-- My first mixer
My first mixer
After mixing for about a year with Traktor I'm thinking about buying a mixer and use it with Traktor or another prog (can I do that?), till I get my cd players. I'm looking for something simple to learn on: 2 ch, decent faders and eqs. Maybe a cheap Stanton or Numark around 100-150USD.
What should I get? Thanks!
dont go any where near stanton, there totally shit, especially on sound quality, and you'll only get a better one anyway. Prolly beter to save up a little more for a vestax, pioneer, denon or allen and heath.
I agree with Jago, better save up a bit more.
In Any case if you are looking for a decent mixer that fits your budget try the behringer vmx300. Although some people don't like it , i bought it three years ago and it still works fine pretty amazing for a prics tag of $150.
In the end once you have cash i recommend you move on to the vestax pcv which is a relaible mixer for starters.
I can get a Vestax PCV002 or a Tascam X-S3.
lol, funny to see rhue whine about sound quality of stantons while recommending a behringer
But ya, he's prolly right, I started with a VMX300 and I'm still (1.5 years later) happy with it. The sound quality isn't that good, but it's ok for the bedroom DJ that starts.
The Stanton mixers are often battle mixers and not very suitable for trance mixing. In the area of 150$, I'd recommend the VMX300

Can I use a vmx 300 with Traktor?
Go Vestax.......
I had the choice to get a cheap mixer or a Vestax PCV when I first started, got the cheaper one and regretted it ever since.

Vestax pcv002 vs. Behringer vmx200/300?
Vestax.
so guys,
please tell me...
whats the difference between stanton smx-401 and vestax pcv 175 ?
For the most part, its quality. A HUGE number of people here own vestax mixers (especially the pcv 275, and 175) and i havnt heard any bad things, besides maybe that they can be a little cramped...but i never found this an issue.
