How long do I have to wait?

Hey guys,

i was wondering, im re-starting jogging and i would like to know how much time do i have to wait after eating to go have a jog so I don't have cramps or feel heavy when running? I know it depends a lot of what u eat, but for example now i just had cerials cause i just woke up...so..guys who do exercise a lot could u help me out please?

Thank you

an hour would be my estimate, thats how much i leave befor ei go to the gym. the true anser isnt measured by time though, its based on how quick you digest your food. if it isnt digested, the blood stays at your stomach to help with digestion, instead of supplying the muscles with oxygen while you are jogging. everyone is different. also depends on what you eat beforehand (changing digestion time). leave at least half an hour to be safe, and work out the time for youself.

you should eat within 30 minutes after you work out. that is the time that your body needs the calories most, and it goes straight to building muscle rather than fat.

oh wait... i read your post backwards. i ususally wait like 10 minutes after i eat to go exercise. there just isnt enough time in the day to wait longer...

Usualy I'll eat something that will give me some energy before going for a run, IE something high in carbs, but I'll only eat a little bit. Also I usualy do this about 30-60 mins before running/working out.

if i was going to run that far i'd make sure i had water during the run. i think you are supposed to drink like a liter an hour when you workout.

Make sure you just "eat" the water and not the glass. Silicone is not conducive to good muscle growth!

Might want to do the protien shake thing a half hour before you exercise, your body more reaily absorbs liquid rather than solids. The a meal high in protien after the work out.

If you go jogging first thing in the morning then dont bother with food. Go on an empty stomach and have breakfast when you get back. This is what I do.
