Damn, 3rd place is pretty fooking impressive. This t/l is right up my alley, definitely going to check it out

edit - not bad only 916 kb/sec transfer

edit 2 - Just finished listening through, really impressed with this one mate The mix from Swing 2 Harmony into Quest was especially well done. keep up the good work.

I am honored by the compliments everyone - thank you!

A new mix should be going up within a week or so, just depends how much free time I end up having this weekend.

Let me know if anyone in your area is looking to book a good prog trance dj! =D

yeah this mix was excellent, makes a refreshing change from some of the crap that keeps posted on this website
programming was excellent, very smooth transitions, in fact most of the time it just seemed like a very long piece of music
track selection is very good too, there's an element of progression, it feels like the mix is going somewhere and youre not just putting tracks in for the sake of it

so in nutshell, im very impressed. good work man, ill be looking out for any future mixes that you do

Hey DjScott... loved the mix !!! Usually I can't listen to a full mix in one setting, it gets too mundane. This was the perfect length ! Not too short, not too long IMO. Very cool, rolling, sexy vibes.

I loved the TUNE at 30 min !!!! WOW.. what was that ?
it's the first time i've heard it.. Great pick !!!

I also loved the feeling at 43:33.. very intense/euphoric.

At 45:40, I knew your set had come to a point of conclusion.. it was predictable, had direction... I could follow you and you didn't just throw a fusion of tunes in. Nice flow !!

^^^ Must be either 'innocent thoughts' or 'dreamer', two of my favorites of this year!

I have a few more contest entry forms on my desk so I'll be preparing some more mixes in the near future. The other day I was practicing and clicked the record button on my pc just for fun, here was the results if anyone cares to hear =D

Not as polished as the balance mix, but I had fun making it.

Dude, this is a very nice mix.

I was going to enter this comp but did not have time. After listeing to your third place entry I don't feel bad about missing it, there is no way I would have come close to finishing in the top 3.

Just a superb mix, good tracks, GREAT mixing (the best I have heard posted on this board), and excellent flow.

Well done, I am really enjoying this.

What is the killer track with female vocals at about min 17? I am totally loving that tune, I must know what it is

Posted by JM-8 on Aug-19-2004 20:12:

awesome mix d00d - keep putting in the work and you will go far.

regards

Posted by DJScottKeith on Aug-19-2004 20:32:

auujay - The track would be Ridgewalkers - Find (Andy Moor Remix) the original is quite nice as well, a little more trancey, loving this one though as the vinyl caters to whatever mood I'm in =D Its out now on Baroque

Also, I have had some questions about the gear & recording process for this mix, so I'll post it here for everyone.

The mix was recorded in my 'bedroom' studio.
- 2 Technics 1200s
- 2 Pioneer CDJ-100s Decks
- Pioneer DJM-3000 Mixer
- Custom Built PC w/ an M-Audio Audiophile SoundCard
- Recording software was Adobe Audition 1.5

The mix was recorded on the fly with no editing or post production work. No mastering was done to the mix.

The track list was about 1/2 planned out, otherwise picked on the fly. This version was the first and only try I made at recording the mix as I had to ship it to Balance the next morning!

thanks again for listening!

Thanks again and look for some new music to come this September!

Finally...

Scott, you are the first DJ I've come across on this forum with a real professional sound. I'm thoroughly impressed with your track selection and not just putting your "favorites" in there. I got tired of hearing mixes where people just put their winamp playlist into a mix with no thought into flow, structure and mood.

GREAT MIX!

-DJ Rain

Posted by DJScottKeith on Sep-13-2004 04:55:

Appreciate the comments Rain, where do you play? Style of music?

I'm excited for this new mix I'm working on in my head right now, should be hitting the record button sometime this week!

downloading, great comments from people, looking forward to this mix
