Ferry Corsten - Sweet Sorrow (incl. Thrillseekers Remix) [Tsunami]

Man, oh man, is this tune hot! Sweet Sorrow is undisputably one of my favourite tunes from Ferry's debut-album, "Right of Way--" and of the 2003/2004 year. I've been patiently awaiting "Sweet Sorrow's" release for ages now! Due soon on Tsunami, Helstrip delivers one heck of a remix. On the flip, an electro-trancy, full-of-crazy-synths-'n-effects Ferry Corsten "Flashover" remix! Sure to sweep the dance floor off its feet upon arrival. Keep your eyes peeled for this one!

The package will be similar to this, in no particular order (somebody correct me if I'm wrong):

A quality package not to be missed!

Kyoto is the best track on RoW But this is worth buying too, especially since the flashover mix is on it. Havent heard the thrillseekers mix yet, is that any good?

bhaaa.... i wanted to see "star traveller" as a release finally since its the best tune on his album imo

I wouldn't say 'sweet sorrow' was the best tune on right of way.
That title would have to go to either 'sublime' or 'kyoto'.

I must admit, when I heard 'Sweet Sorrow' remixed I thought I was an awesome tune, and I will undoubtebly be one of the big tunes at the big events such as Creamfields etc. I first heard it (the Thrillseekers remix) in Paul Oakenfolds Global gathering set and loved it.

Now that's something that i can't wait to hear, Oliver Shine's Northstar/Southstar are just massive. The flashover remix doesn't tops the original

very nice tune but i'd like to hear more often that new synth they introduced in the build up

Holding On, for instance, will get an Above & Beyond Remix.

I'm sincerely hoping you're making this up

I think Ferry has spinned the "Flashover" remix yesterday @ Dance Valley. A pretty nice remix is must say from which I can remember

Posted by UWM on Aug-08-2004 18:59:

Flashover mix is massive!

Posted by refuge on Aug-08-2004 19:58:

^ Yes.. finally Ferry has his own community! When did this happen by the way?

edit: I answered my own question.. no need in answering now

I like the original and Ferry's flashover remix alot, well produced tracks. Steve Helstrip obviously didn't think much to it though, his remix is a proper rush-job, there's a glimmer of hope in the break when that sweet synth fades in, but then that goes and from then it's a very bland affair, awful build too, watch those key clashes, Mr Helstrip, you should know better!

i concour, i have not heard one track i dont like yet

Steve does deliver a fine remix..the buildup is pure ecstasy and I love the way it gives way to the all too familiar sweet sorrow melody. The peak is straight of the original and offers nothing new but the pitched up melody that appears layered over the main melody is a quality variation.

Overall, this remix just doesnt dissapoint...it has far more energy than the original which I thought the tune rightly deserved.

Massive massive break in this remix, I had shivers all the way on Dancevalley.

Thrillseekers remix was great, but I like Ferry's Flashover Remix better.

I dunno, he'd be hard pressed to top the original Star Traveller with a Flashover. hehehe

BTW on a side note, did anyone else feel that the crazy electro video game sounding synth in the Flashover Mix of Sweet Sorrow resembled the crazy electro style synth before the breakdowns in Right Of Way? Good stuff.

idd, holding on is as beauty as it is now, it doesn't need a remix. I think it's the best song on the cd!

Again, we know you have a limited knowledge of trance, but you really don't have a clue on some things

Been hearing the Flashover remix of Sweet Sorrow from Ferry's Nature One 2004 set... pretty kickin' track (actually, my fav track of that set)
