Ipod Mini
I'm considering buying the new Ipod Mini...
Has anyone bought it? What do you think?
Is it any good?
Is it slow?
Battery capacity?
Sturdy?
mini ipod is a major rip
iPod mini is definitely a ripoff. it's like 240 bucks for 4 GB. fuck that.
you buy that and you're paying for style not music. Spend 50 dollars more and get the 20 gig.

if he/she can afford it, goot for him/her.
don't have one myself, but i think they are more for girls than anything else.
my .02
wait a month or two for the 60 gig to come out. I believe that's why all the prices dropped 100 dollars. I know it's coming due to apple buying a crap load of toshibas new 60 gig mini hard drive. Now i want one.
Thanks for the feedback...
After reading reviews on amazon, and yours I've concluded the same.
Especially what someone said about that after a while, aestetics doesn't matter anymore... Yes, it's fancy, and like someone also said; it's more for girls to have in their purse...
I'm going for Rio Carbon
5gb <- Microdrive (Seagate)
Playback: 25h (not 8h)
firewire/usb2
equalizer (not on ipod)
voicerec (not on ipod)
physically smaller
no stupid software neccesary
yeah! now I'm grateful for not finding it anywhere on Schipol Airport (Amsterdam)
there are a lot of rumors that new new ipod has equilizers and has a lot more surprises hidden in it. And it does have voice recording.
It goes along with the saying, You can settle for something now, or you can wait and save a few months or years longer and get the best. buy a civic because it's cheap and mod that now, or save a while and buy a TT supra or Z06 vette.

i was in this same dilemma - but i went for the 20gb ipod, i dont see the point in the mini one's to be honest, its not as if the normal ipod's are massive to start with.
get yourself a Iriver HD120.....for 300 bucks play ogg and mp3...and no need for software..
www.ipodlounge.com
reviews and tons of helpful things on that site for ipod/mini and its accessories. you can also go on thier messageboard for any information you might want thats not posted. i've been there ever since I got my 3g 20g ipod and I've found out a lot of stuff that i would've otherwise emailed apple for.

How can you say aesthetics don't matter?
After owning a piece of equipment for a long time, aesthetics become VERY important, it makes the difference of wheather you want to carry this piece of equipment with you every day. Simple things like how the buttons feel, how sleek and clean looking it is, and how well it can fit in your pocket can make the difference between a medeocre piece of equipment, and a great all-around electronic device.
