Wow...Tiësto's performing during the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics
Taken from his website:
Tiësto performing at the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games, Athens 2004.
This evening on Dutch television the Greek artistic director of the openings ceremony (Dimitris Papaioannou) confirmed that they were very proud to have Tiësto as a part of their official opening of the Olympic Games of Athens 2004 on Friday August 13, 2004. He is going to spin his music live during the parade of athletes. During this parade all participating nations introduce their athletes.
Now I'm not the biggest fan of Tiësto, but if he were highlighted throughout the opening ceremony by the media, it would HUGE for the EDM scene in general. Think of how many people would be listening to our music during that time...what, over 150 million people worldwide?? Wow...
very cool
This is huge.....I can't wait to see this.
kewl..this is gonna be niice
Whoah this is great

sweet, i wonder how long he's going to spin for
Maybe Tiesto will get a gold medal for best Trance Performance.

way cool for sure
its probly gonna be nothing special, if nbc is broadcasting it
they always have commericals during the cerimony and they have those stupid annoucers and when holland comes out and if you see tiesto on a float spinning i doubt they will even mention him
lets just hope when holland comes out that the annoucers mic's go out and they only have the sound from tiesto
SPIKE THE PRE-GAME PUNCH!
man think of what a huge promotion this will be for which ever artists tiesto decides to spin
didn't someone say theres supposed to be like 100 million people watching...thats a tad more exposure for a producer than they might get at the average club..
i'm calling that he plays at least 2 of his own tracks
well spank my ass and call me susan..
Will he spin "traffic" when bunch of runners pile up?
Or "Flight 467" when LeBron James dunks?
well whatever he spins, im sure its gonna be GREAT

wow is this the next step of his comercial sell out??? probably...
tijs... as most of us loved and followed him is gone since some loooooong time i think...

There was once a time when I really really admired Tiesto, now I hang my head in shame because of what fame did to him.
being popular doesnt make you commercial
separate it
save that commercial banter for oakie

Hate to burst Your bubble, peeps, but if it's on NBC I can guarantee they're only going to show US athletes and cut out the rest of the parade, ie no Tiesto live on NBC for us... those of you, who have the opportunity of watching it on some other channel - TAKE IT!!! I have no satellite, so i'll probaly have to suffer...

I doubt the whole set will broadcasted on tv, but I'm sure you'll hear much of it in the background
Also, for anyone who is out in Athens for the Olympics, they can also catch Tiesto on Aug 15 and PVD on Aug 22, at a club called Venue
