The Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia 2004 (incl. Pulser / Ferry Corsten / Mesh Remixes)

Update of a major classic. Package will be released on Steve Helstrip's newly founded label, Adjusted Music. So far, promos of the gem have been floating around. I believe it will be released as a double-vinyl, one including the En-Motion Re-edit and Ferry's massive remix, and the other including the Pulser and Mesh remixes.

En-Motion Re-edit:
Doesn't do much for the original, IMO. More of a remake / update than a remix. 7/10.

Ferry Corsten remix:
Truly the real reason to buy this record. Normally I dislike updates... but what Ferry has done with this remix is truly colossal. Definitley a must-have! 9/10.

Pulser remix:
Very nice remix by Pulser, indeed. Another great reason to buy this vinyl.

Mesh remix:
Mesh takes a more abstract approach with his mix. Once the track hits the 4-5 min mark around the build, twinkling synths and ever-so-soothing subtle melodies kick in -- a trademark of Mesh we have all gotten to know and love. His mix goes in a very nice direction, however, afterwards, I don't feel he does anything more with it. It's like a re-incarnation of the original with some new FX added. And there really isn't a convincing / mesmorizing breakdown, either. Rather, it seems like a continuation of the build which wanders off for another 4min+. Overall, very nice beginning and build, but the finish could have been done much better. 8/10.

A release I'm really looking forward to. It surely won't disappoint.

Opinions?

What a slew of mindblowing releases!!!!!
En-Motion Re-edit is hardly deviant from the original. Infact I think it might just be a re-release as someone mentioned.
Ferry's remix is absolutely mindblowing and it sounds unique even when it sounds similiar to the original - 9.5/10

Mesh Remix - This remix is soo uplifting and it is reallly growing fast on me. Currently I rate it at 8/10.

Pulser Remix - Certainly not of the caliber of Ferry and Mesh remixes but it does deserve a mention. Quite a decent remix but I don't really like it that much. - 6.5/10

I fail to see what caused such confusion? What part of "Re-Edit" is difficult to comprehend?

The new mixes are nice, but ofcourse, the En-Motion mix is still number 1.

the club mix IMO is the best one...

and the vandit mix rocks also...

The Ferry remix is awesome. I can't say the same about the rest of the remixes, as I've yet to hear them.

Heard the Pulser mix out on Friday night. Quite liked it as it seemed to have a bit more energy than the original. Really looking forward to hearing the Mesh remix as well.

The en-motion mix was always the best, forget the 'club' or 'vandit' mixes, they were never as good as it, if it's been re-released without much done to it, then so what, why change something that's not broken.

Ferrys Remix is awesome, 10/10 for that, he's respectfully done it and I'm glad that he's done it in such a way.

The others i've not heard yet

Absolutely loving the Mesh Remix. Ferry's remix is really nice as well, don't really think the other versions add anything.

in his words to me

"it was a special live mix that wasn't complete or anything, just thrown together for the concert and the reaction I got would determine if i'd finish working on it"

None of the 2004 remixes are that good, all of them are average. The Ferry Corsten remix sounds as if it wasn't mastered. The Pulser remix could do with a touch of energy (although this mix is better produced of the 4). The Mesh mix sounds like a parallel of confusion and the en-motion re edit should have been called the "remastered" mix. You would have thought that Ferry could have done something with this classic but no, maybe he did rush it.

More remixes are always welcome, but this set of remixes has really been disappointing. Anyway, if there ever was a perfect remix in terms of tune and production then it would be the PVD remix of this classic a remix which most likely will never be superseded.

It could have been worse though, the remixes could have included Sheryl Deane. Maybe they are learning?

no really, the mesh remix is pretty good.
Pulser's remix is stock standard adds very little. Ferry's mix at least scores points on originality.

Mesh: 8
Ferry: 7.75
Pulser: 6.5

That's all true

Ferry all the way.

Pulser did a decent job.

didn't like the other mixes..

Ferry Corsten one for me heard him play this a while back I've been after a copy of this without the vocals on it for ages.

PVD dub was great when it first came out all them years ago but have never been able to get hold of it.
