Anybody into surfing?

Who here surfs?

Its mad fun, maybe not as good as snowboarding, but heaps fun none-the-less. Catching big waves, and getting barrelled, well it doesn't come any better.

Its great fun, and I guess we are spoilt here, not being far from the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, where there are good waves a plenty.

If you are over 5 years old and a body boarder please don't bother posting because the people that do this are total nerds. I mean laying on your stomach and wearing silly little flippers? Cmon, what a joke. Deserve to be run over by board fins and dumped on the rocks.

edit: Im sorry thats just the first thing that came to my mind. To answer your question, I dont surf because I live in Cleveland. If I lived in California I have no doubt in my mind that Id be on a board every day.

Well, no ocean does make riding waves a little difficult, unless you have one of those wave pools.

I've surfed in California, and don't worry you aren't missing much unless small waves, discharge and disease is your thing.

Nice girls to look at though.

There hasn't been a fatal shark attack in Australia for weeks, not sure about America though.

Its mostly an irrational fear that.

Ive surfed only long boards. Was pretty crazy. My firs time out was at 1am. Got up after my 3rd try was walking the board at 6.

Next day was 8 foot at the face. Got my ass kicked, only rode a few in because they were close outs.

Was standing in the surf, felt my 9foot leash go taught then was dazed. fucking 9 foot board from 9 feet cracked my skull. Glad it wasnt the blades.

Bled everywhere, was storming out, had to fight back to shore.

ran around naked that night after getting drunk...
