DJ's that should call it a day?
What are your thoughts on current DJ's who should call it a day or radically transform themselves to their former glory if they are to maintain their reputation?
The DJ I believe that is walking a tightrope at the moment is Paul Oakenfold after hearing his Global Gathering and Radio 1 Ibiza sets, I was shocked by the qaaulity of the mixes and he really has to pull a legendary set together soon or it may be the end of him. Who you think is living dangerously on the scene?

George Acosta, DJ Irene and Jon Bishop. It all sounds the same.
Oakenfold for sure. I don't give a shit how good he was, how influential he was... it doesn't change the fact that his mixes are shite. He was great for EDM... great... get off the stage and let some good DJ's have a go...

tiesto - everything he ever seems to do now centres around money its all he seem to be bothered about the club scene can do without people like that
Oakenfold - Radio One In Ibiza Sums It Up
Acosta - Just Plain Sucks
Erick Morillo - Maybe Not Retire But Shut Up & Stop Trying To Make Dance Music, Rap
Seb Fontaine - Same As Oakies Reasoning

Oakenfold
I tried listening to his GKGG set, and it was hard to make it all the way through; horrible mixing. Not to mention an almost identical tracklist the other night on a Radio 1 Live broadcast.

acosta for sure.
ew. but his miami cd wasn't THAT bad was it?
lots of people
1. George Acosta
Please make him go away.
2. Oakenfold
His recent sets have been, er, special.
3. Seb Fontaine
At least Radio 1 finally gave him a wake-up call. But I felt he was on the way down ever since the second Prototype. Seb isn't bad, but he just doesn't seem to have a coherent style of his own. Take a break, man.

Oakenfold = He has been with us so long but he has since long lost that cutting edge
he used to provide. Glad i didnt book to see him in Sweden this fall.
Tisto = He isnt smiling because he is happy or because he likes the music. He just feels corrupt.
Paul van Dyk = Mr Re-Edit himself should have called it quits long ago.
Johan Gielen = uhm, yeah.

Oakenfold, i've said it before and i'll say it again. He was absolutly great, but the keyword is was.
Oakie should definently keep making music, but quit DJing.
PVD should definently keep DJing, but quit making music
What's wrong with Acosta fellas? didn't you guys like Touched?
Oakenfold- Summerfest 2004. I had a good time, but yes, the mixing was bad... well.... yeah it was bad.
and as for PvD... I always loved his livesets, but his productions are a little lacking. A little too much Jan Johnston I do believe.
Acosta- The Napoleon Complex really needs to stop.
Dj Irene- Do I need to say more?
Porttia Surreal- SUCKS! The only thing that makes her keep getting gigs is that she spins topless.
Tiesto
paul van dyk
Oakie +10.
Paul Oakenfold has been an EDM icon. But then again, everyone respects him for all that he has DONE for edm but whats done is done.
I think his days are numbered until he pulls togther a really mindblowing set. Every DJ has a lifespan..more or less..whatever everyone may think and Paul has been around for over 10 years if I'm correct?
Personally I think he is at the fag-end of his career but then again, who knows...time will tell.
As for PVD, he has been doing a lot of experimenting lately...
But when I heard PVD@Nature One I concluded that he ain't goin anywhere!
