vinyls are lame.......

Atleast try to think of a persuasive argument rather than just linking a thread, of course new technology will come along, dosn't mean vinyls are lame.

The point of this thread, a well thought up argument would be asking for people opinions and posting it on the dj booth.

Posted by sleepydragon on Aug-09-2004 21:30:

get a clue mate it still feels better to mix with vinyl and the reason why they r switching to other formats is for practical purposes less to carry around.
cant u even form ur own opinion on the matter or do have to link to other sites

Posted by TwoPlow on Aug-09-2004 21:31:

Oh shit, the big boys are doing it, we better all hunker down and follow suit.

The future is not CD over vinyl or sticking to vinyl alone, you have to combine all the available mediums. And who the fuck cares what you're spinning on, as long as you throw down a great set.

Posted by noikeee on Aug-09-2004 21:32:

they're the opposite of lame, extreme kewlness factor but unfortunately they're very unconvenient compared to cd and generic digital formats

this is gonna end up in a mix of "vinyl vs cd" / "hardware vs software" / "mp3 vs legal" / "tradition vs future" all threads we have seen countless times in the past

you are lame

Posted by Wraith on Aug-09-2004 22:04:

Oh no, Sasha and Pete Tong are giving up vinyl?? Whatever shall I do?? I guess I need to follow suit and promptly smash all my records and TTs and get CD's and CDJs otherwise I won't be as cool anymore!!!!

This is a lame argument coming from a person who obviously has trouble forming a coherent argument so they have to link a web site to get their psuedo-point across. Get a clue...

The future? Yeah, CDs are going to be a part of the future. Does that mean that people still wont be spinning on vinyl? No.

I will always spin mostly on vinyl, simply for the feel of things. I really don't care about having to carry around something heavy, as long as I can feel something special when spinning vinyl over CD.

You really shoud stop and understand that certain people do love vinyl. Don't call people "vinyl sluts" because of their personal opinion.

Someone likes something different than you? Big fucking deal.

Posted by her throat cut on Aug-09-2004 22:35:

well call me dumb then because i am using new technology and you are stick with the old vinyl that was big when....hmm years and years ago.
i never tought to say it sucks because i knew how most will react, but now after seeing the biggest djs in the wolrd saying it does indeed suck, then i have nothing further to prove.

Posted by her throat cut on Aug-09-2004 22:36:

Djs do not think vinyl sucks, most had, and still do excellent memories of vinyl, there will always be djs using vinyl because all of the major record lables release their songs through vinyl.

That artical said that cds were more pratical, not they sucked, you are a bloody idiot sir.

Actually, going by the DJMag list, I have not seen Armin, Ferry, nor Tisto make the switch to totally CD or computer.

Posted by her throat cut on Aug-09-2004 22:42:

hmm....i am lazy to look for more articles that actually says vunyls are lamer then CDs, but i will leave it at that.
you keep spining on vunyls then and i will evolve!

Posted by idoru on Aug-09-2004 22:42:

Oh, and it's all about YOUR opinion on whether or not something sucks.

Don't let other people choose for you. Be yourself, be original, or you wont succeed.

offcourse.
except PVd, most trance djs wont do it.
its easier for them.
in trance you put the vunyl for minutes and not much to do.

in techno and more serious dance music, you need to keep working on the turntables non-stop.
its making you tired.
