you cant watch your favourite television program with out being interupted by tons of commercials trying to sell you something. i think some ads are good but some are totally annoying e.g

the skittles ad with the grandma that starts rapping
all the canadian tire ads

i just think if you are gonna try and sell something do it in a way thats not gonna make the viewers wanna change their channels.

yeah i agree, i friggin hate those commercials..

my fav one right now is the nestea commercial.. dude starts signing "where do they go when they drink nesteeeeea?" while someone drinks it, and at the end after falling into the water, he emerges inside his own bottle.

"huh?"

"huh?"

haha

that rapping grandma shit annoys the hell out of me...the Keith's beer stereotypical "loud Scot" character definitely needs to die.

BEST commercial this year is the "Vim cleaner" one where it looks like the mother is in jail. Brilliant!!!

the KFC commercial that warns us fall is coming.

the girl screams and we don't know why until we see a leat turned red on the ground and at the end a guy screams like a girl when a leaf lands on his shoulder. very funny.

Thost stupid Netsle commercials with the ugly chick that meets a guy who tows her car...WTF...I can't believe someone got paid well for that crap

There SO many bad ones...the stupid tropicana twister too.

I kinda like the new Tostito's ad when the guy has this huge electric guitar

MnM's commercials are pretty good too.

Commercials don't usually bug me because they are ridiculous and have no effect on me, and I am now used to them. BUT, that HORRIBLE Pepsi commercial where they show Jimi Hendrix at age 11, and how he chooses between a coke and a pepsi machine PISSES ME RIGHT OFF. clearly, pepsi must have paid a lot of money to use him in their commercials......and i bet he is turning in his grave.......COMMERCIAL PEPSI BASTARDS!!

well they dont want you to change channels, infact they believe the commercial will keep you watching.

MOST of the time, if you dont 'get' it or arent entertained by a commercial, then you are not the target demographic. Sometimes they just get it plain wrong, and make stupid commercials.

why do we love beer commercials? cause they almost always targeted to young males, hence the people getting hurt, hot girls, and party scenes filled with hot girls

Why do I HATE beer commercials...

a) They are full of shit, showing scenarios that are 10000% impossible and not real
b) As if drinking beer will get you those girls
c) Low Carb beer...please...beer for altheles...YEAH OK!
d) They show all men as stupid, braindead, lazy characters

....and the list goes on

get your friends fired up
grab a stick of juicy fruit
the taste is gonna move ya

take a sniff
pull it out
the taste is gonna move you
when you pop it in your mouth

juicy fruit is gonna move ya
it's got the taste
that gets right to ya
juicy fruit is gonna move ya

^^^^ That commercial is just stupid...HA HA very funny?

I think they make the commercial annoying so it would stick in people's minds.

I can't believe how shitty those bad boy commercials are

Speaking of bad boy commercials...their newest version...

The guy in the prioner suit stands holding tickets and says...
"Who wants free Blue Jay tickets???" (or something along these lines)

and I swear to god I was about to yell noooooooooooooobody! Poor BJs...I hope they do better soon with the new coach/manager guy

Posted by TheVrk on Aug-10-2004 19:35:

i'd say about 95% of commercials suck.
it'll never change

yes as an educated an aware male you realize this.

but you gotta admit, some of the commercials are halarious!

i see your point about the scenarious which will never happen! like the guys cleaning the house, then cutting the rug, and going to a party. they are the only two guys there, with hot model girls everywher!!!! i have never been to a part where the girls out number the guys

fyi, they spelt goal, gool on that one commercial...
and one of the "sale tag" players were running out of the field when a guy was shooting at the net.

Those commercials, and ones of the same nature (shitty ones) should never be displayed on television. If channels want to keep their reputation, honestly, they better block some of this non sense.

"GOOOOOOOOOOOOLL!!"

I haven't seen a commercial in about a year. I moved into my own appt and decided not to get Cable TV. How could I survive without TV you (and homer simpson) ask? Well I download to my computer all of the syndicated TV shows that I watch, sans commercials . It's the only way to go IMHO.. commercials just plain suck!

Posted by Callie5 on Aug-10-2004 20:18:

You have to admit though...

The Labatt Blue (out of the blue) commercials are friggin GREAT!

YEEESSSS that's exactly the one i was referring to!!!!

They look like shit, dirty, working as carpet cleaners and end up at a party when they are dressed and everyone else are girls in bikinis with amazing bodies...YEAH OK DREAM ON!

But you are right...I actually love the bud light commercials they are actually good..."This calls for a bud light" I need that steaming cup of coffee 3000

yup i know what you mean, i downloaded a bunch of simpons episodes a while back and i must say i enjoyed the commercial free viewing.

has anyone noticed how commercials seem louder than the actual program you are viewing at the time, do you think they do that on purpose?? my bet is they do

i have an option on my tv where it regulates teh volume of the program and the commercial to the same level. but i only hear the difference sometimes.

when a bad boy commercial comes on, nothign can save u from taht shouting.

Posted by Pett on Aug-11-2004 04:45:

DEFINITELY!

It's done on purpose, no doubt...so that when you walk out of the room to get a drink or something during a break, you can still hear their ads
