hey man.. glad you love trance music so much. its good that it helped you outta depression. trance is emotional music. i would say just search the boards for song selection. you might find that you like the bigger name DJs and Producers like Tiesto, PvD, armin van burren and then again you might prefer the less known things. If you are really that new to the trance music scene i recommend you do some research. there is so much that EDM (electronic dance music) has that other genres dont. Whether it be the massive parties and venues that no other genre can touch or Ibiza, clubbing capital of the world, i dont think you could have made a better decision than to choose trance music. tell me, what stuff have you listened to so far. whats the kind of music that helped you through depression?

Just got you out of depression eh? DON'T GO LISTEN TO BATTLESHIP GREY.

In all seriousness, it's great to see EDM have a positive impact on a newcomer to the scene. Welcome to the TA community.

soo tru... i DO feel the love in this thread haha. i gotta make this quick cause i gotta haul ass to work in a bit, but to answer ur question pvd, the cd's i have now... if i can think of em all off the top of my head are ultra trance 1 and 3, ministry of sound trance nation america 3, m.o.s american anthems, m.o.s annual 2002 and 2004, armin van burren- state of trance, paul oakenfold- tranceport, buncha dj irene cd's... got a boxed set :~), love 2 trance compilation, pure trance 3, pure progressive, ultra dance 5... uhh think i got a few others too... o yea a dj skribble cd. i have a bunch of songs downloaded from kazaa and off this site too, but ill list them all later. i know its not all trance, but im tryin to diversify my electro collection even though i definately prefer trance over anything. as far as what helped me through depression... tough to say.... one of the first cd's i got was the ultra trance 1, a friend let me borrow it a couple months ago and i have yet to give it back to her haha... i know most of you guys prob think its too poppy, which it probablly is, but i think it definately had a lot to do with the eye opening i did not too long ago, so i think that will be one of my favorite cd's for the rest of my life!! amazing died in your arms tonight remix!!

oh yea and ill work on getting that double thread off here... my comp was actin crazy so it wouldnt let me do it just now... peace guys!

Welcome to TA

Always nice to hear that trance has affected people's lives for the better, I know that trance has helped me stay positive when things aren't so good (I'm not gonna start saying I was depressed and my life sucks, because that's not true nor what I'm trying to say, but if I ever feel bad it does help)

peace n trance:

Congrats on discovering the music that is EDM. It is a massive style of music and definitely has inspired me as well. I wouldn't have even considered dj'ing, much less buying a vinyl record if I hadn't found out about the music.

Stormdance:

That's cool you live in Harrisburg. I'm right across the river from you in New Cumberland. Ahh... the PATA's are starting to come out of the woodwork! Good stuff, maybe a PATA Alliance is in order? Anyone else on these boards from PA?

Posted by Stormdance on Aug-12-2004 03:40:

Actually I'm not quite in Harrisburg (just put it there since more people would recognize it). I live down 83 South about 8 miles, in Etters (you know where that Maple Donuts is?)

Posted by DJ Intrigue on Aug-12-2004 03:55:

Not exactly sure where the Maple Donuts shop is, but yea, I know where Etters is. I've That's not far from where I live, about 10-15 minutes away.
