download an exe?? no thanks

Posted by La5eR on Aug-12-2004 07:50:

Its actually not a virus I scanned it on norton, mcafee, ran it on redhat 9.0, winxp pro, and debian so I think its safe and albinoblack sheep would be stupid to host a virus.

Nice sig

Posted by kr00t0n on Aug-12-2004 08:30:

smooth as on my 9800 pro

seems to be some sort of next-gen compression, very nice

Posted by joshyd on Aug-12-2004 09:41:

ummm wats so good about this?? if its the fact that its only 64kb then yeh thats pretty amazing they got the file down to that size. otherwise its a camera flying around fairly average 3d pics.
im confused... is there something im not getting??

Posted by cviper on Aug-12-2004 10:04:

Amazing that they could get that into 64 kB. It doesn't download anything from the net either (at runtime).

Though, one can see that there's alot of tiling textures/reusing geometry. And I guess there are quite a few procedural textures/models.

Amazing nevertheless

The intro was pretty nice. I'm actually amazed that the fine graphics didn't take more space than that. Though, it didn't actually contain much animation, besides orbitering in a 3D enviroment. I suggest you check out the winner of the 64k intro from Assenbly 2004:

It's the one on the top. You can also browse entries of other compos at http://assembly-ftp.nebula.fi/asm04/compos/

You can also check the 4k intro winner "ReBirth", wich was later on disqualified for an obvious reason

AWESOME!!!

Chris the others are awesome. But I cant find that 4k intro one.

Posted by -=M=- on Aug-13-2004 01:20:

man the product is quite quite old - its a 64kb 11 minute graphics presentation with wav quality sound demonstating extreme software compression

i cant remember the fabrausch website but they've done shitloads of stuff thats better than the product... i think the product was out in 2000 or 2001

It was probably deleted because of disqualification. PM me if you want it.
