Armin van Buuren @ Crobar

Good solid set, and must say armin is the man!! much rather have seen him at central park instead. Did anyone else find 3/4 of the crowd grimey and repulsive, I felt like i was in exit for a few moments. Anyway, good tunes he played, some were ruined by the trucker horns which came on at inappropriate times. He's defintely working his way to number 1 thats for sure.. Kudos to Armin

Some tunes:
Ton T.B. - Dream Machine
William Orbit - Adagio for Strings
Nikola Gala - Swing to Harmony
Mojado Ft. Mr. Sam - Naranja
Mark Norman - Phantom Manor
Armin Van Buuren vs. M.I.K.E Pres. Electric Movement - Intruder
Filterheadz - Yimanya
Armin van Buuren - Communication pt.3
..will remember more in the future

Dunno Armin.. had been better!

Hello guys and gals.

DJ Pippins here. Although I am a Trance addict, and my top 3 fav Trance DJ are PVD,Tiesto, Above & Beyond and Armin (not in particular order), I neved missed any of the shows Armin did in US.

To be honest, I agree what people say about people being a little tipsy, but I did not like very much what Armin did either. He kept signalling with his hands "Come on!" but he definitely has done better last time he was here in Roxy.

I found most of his tracks was dancable, but some of themn were really not there. The tack I dislike most for dancing is the track where the voices go "So, did you like it... then why didn't you buy it".. or something like that. He actually spun some of the AAB tracks. Surprsingly I could not take it any longer, and left around 12:30. The crows was dispersing too. Maybe because it was a Thursday night, and people had to work. The stange was fantastic, the lighting was OK.

Time for us to say to Armin "Come on". And what was that cheesy thing about taking the headphones and facing it to the audience. I mean, what was the purpose? It's not a microphone!. Overall, yes, Armin is trying to be #1, but I don't think he is there yet!

Comments, folks?

Confused

i thought that the crowd seemed a little grimey as well, but there was still a large number of gorgeous girls running around. hehe...im wonderin who has the pictures to post of AVB @ Crobar. im really waiting to send some to some of the other clubbers i know. the event was overall a success i think, even though the park would have been better.

haha well actually...

ever plugged your headphones into the microphone socket and then talked into either the left or right (can't remember which) phone?

Posted by Pippins on Aug-16-2004 13:45:

Dunno

Hi Ghost!

Regarding the headphone thing that Armin did, You can't!. The big DJ headphones that Armin uses the SONY MDR to be precise, has a 1/4 inch size pin that does not even go into the micro phone jack. To know, what equipments Armin uses, try this site :
http://www.arminvanbuuren.com/studio/

I'm saying this, because I mix myself. So I know the funky stuff he did was nonsense!.

Ppl, don't get me wrong. I absolutely love Armin. I think he can even be better than Tiesto. But I was a bit dissapointed by his Crobar gig. That's all!. And yes, wtf @&*%$%$ about the train horns? Who does that? I know it was not Armin since he looked surprised himself!

Posted by Ghostface on Aug-16-2004 14:09:

ok cool, sorry didn't know about the plug issue. It's just I have pissed my friends off many a time with some impromptu MCing through my HDJ1000's while mixing.

Read This!

Hi Ghostface!

Hmm!! thats strange!.. How was the effect?

And what do you use for mixing?...

I am a PVD follower, so I use a laptop, and use Ableton Live.

Armin....Great show

[COLOR=darkblue]Well I must say I enjoyed myself at Crobar....I thought Armin really pumped up the crowd, his enthusiasm was great and who can really argue with a 6 hour set?? After seeing Tiesto in Cleveland and Detroit for about 2-3 hours each time, it was a very very welcome change! Tiesto should get hip and start pulling some long sets here in America where the fan base is yet untapped and where people still actually listen to methodically produced hip hop and R&B at every club!! I drove all the way from Cleveland just for the one night with my fellow trance addict buddies and it was well worth the drive and the $1,200 we blew (literally and figuratively)on the one night at Crobar and after-hours clubs...Next up-Ibiza!

just tried it then by plugging my pioneer hdj1000s into the microphone socket on the back of my pioneer djm300 and then speaking into the left phone on the headphones and it works a treat.
