Beer: The flavors of the world...

I have a thing for trying different beers, while I was in the Brittany region of France I had 2 local beers, which weren't too good. Yesterday I had a few "Tolosa" which is almost an underground beer from the city of Toulouse where I am now.
At the moment I'm having a cold Tsingtao...

Whats the oddest beer you've had?

Not really odd but:

Old Engine Oil
Old Peculier
Doppelbiersch
Double Bastard Ale
Ssalvatori Double Bbock
Terrible Ale
Bigfoot Ale

those would be up there with the ones I liked.

I just tried 5 new ones this weekend, but I just woke up and cant remember the names. They were good though.

Names are a bizitch...but try Tolosa if you're ever near Toulouse...it was almost sweet, but packed a good punch.

Dirt Cheap Beer

really cheap, really bad

Posted by Orbax on Aug-13-2004 15:57:

Yeah, most of the beer I drink is 9% abv or higher. I like dark, earthy beers that kick your ass. Especially after having Elysium IPA I cant stand beers that have any sweetness to them. They taste like candycanes.

Microbrews really are the best though. Its the stuff that only locals can get. Just have to travel more

Fly Ale
Black Sheep Ale
Newcastle Brown Ale

There are loads of small breweries in Britain so the choice is massive

Yeah..we had that variety pack, right? I can't even remember them all...the 'Naked' one stuck out in my mind however..for obvious reasons...haha. And the explinations of the brew's history were mint.
