ironically i went to ameoba records today. Check out the collection and it's actually pretty big and good. It'll be a nice choice to check out.

if you're willing to go down a bit further than LA, that is, south LA county and into orange county....then there's another couple of stores that i could recommend..
1) world music in rosemead, not a huge selection, but they get the imports the earliest of most other stores that i've been to.
2) music revolution in rosemead/alhambra & anaheim...they don't have a very large or current selection at that, but they have plenty of older records that are very cheap...$3-$4 for some of the older ones.
3) dj culture in costa mesa - these guys are great, they have a varied selection, get all the new stuff, but are a little bit pricey.
there used to be higher source, but they shut down a few months ago. also LA lost another great store when DMC records shut down...larry had such a good thing going, i guess the buzz around the store just died in the last couple of years...
if anybody has any other suggestions, i'm all ears...

yeah, ure right, dj culture is owned by simply jeff & company...
i never liked planetxusa, i dunno if they changed their shipping system, but they don't let you choose what kind of shipping you want. as long as you have $40 in green categorized records, then they'll pick the shipping for you. once i got them within 2 days, once it took 10 days...
i still like ordering from dancegrooves.com, as long as pascal fixes the problems that they were having with rapid air shipping...
i haven't ordered from only-djs.com, shipping was outrageous, i would have to order like 13-15 records for the shipping for not be a factor...
