afterwards you should start studying topics individually... find tutorials on the internet... or pick up books specifically on one topic Ie: sound design, your sequencer, equalization, mixing, mastering.. etc.

Go to an Borders or something like that. I have about 3 or 4 books on recording and producing. One is a Visual Guide to pro tools. I have one called 'Musicians Guide to Home Recording' and some others.

Depends...are you looking for basics like analogue synthesis? Or more advanced stuff like layout and design? I read a good one called "Quick Guide to Analogue Synthesis" which was concise and great for learning the fundamentals...
