puncuation nerds

i understand the typos and lack of punction for relaxed speed purposes, such as how i dont use apostrophes or capitalize the begining words of my sentences. but some times when i read an email or a post things will just stick out to me like HUGE EYESORES!!!
such as people confusing the differences of theyre there and their. or people just spelling basic words incorrectly. i just read some posts about highschool and there was a post that used 'great' like 'grate', could this be a typo? i think not. maybe if they typed 'graet', but the e at the end is so far from where it should be, plus i think they were trying to make the 'a' strong by putting the 'e' at the end. and no, they werent grating anything like cheese, they were using great like excellent. there were some more things in that thread that stuck out to me but i forgot em already..
anyone else have this problem? those kinds of mistakes stand out so much to me, and i cant help it but to feel the need to say something, usually to my brother or girlfriend when i catch them doing something like that wrongly, it probably makes me look like a know-it-all or pompous jackass. but i cant help it. anyone else notice these kinds of things?

hehe sorry to mention it, but your no sweetpea eather with grammar! no caps at the beginning of a sentence, and I isnt capitalized, etc.

im no grammer nazi..but you'd think you would have perfect spelling for a grammer nazi type thread

a quote from the begining of my post accounting for my own lack of puncuation, its not those things i was refering to, its simple misselings like when people spell 'nite' instead of 'night'. :/

*edit yes i do know i consistently have TYPOS in my posts and everything, but typos do not bother me! *

People spelling lose as loose is a classic example.

I always notice simple errors like that.

Is it supposed to be a joke that 'punctuation' is spelt incorrectly?

Oh boo fuckin hoo!

its phonetic typing. When people don't care about typing or are not good at it they spend most of their cognition on the process of typing, not word retreival and all that.

so what they do is have a thought of the next couple o words in mind. They retreive a huge list, which narrows down. Sometimes you pick the wrong word, and a lot of the time it will sound the same.

I do this all the time, i'll spell things phonetically and not even notice it. I'll also be thinking too far ahead, and type something twice. its wild.

there is a lot more to what goes on in the mind when using language. Not many people have even the slightest grasp on it, and no one has a full grasp on it. So until you know whats going on...stfu. :P

Not to mention that since TA spreads all across the globe not everybody is originally english-speaking... So it's already a nice thing we can understand each other, plus the typos are never that bad that you cant figure out what the person is saying, unless a lot of alcool is involved..

MSN (and all its similar brothers and sister programs), and e-mail will be the downfall of the english language.
