Which record bag is the best? I think "Shure MRB Record bag" is very good, but I cannot find European online shop which have it.

Thanx guys for your help

The UDGs are the best but pretty expensive though. http://www.udgdj.com/

They look really good, but they are very expensive... How about this Shure bag?

Posted by Special_K on Aug-15-2004 18:58:

UDG all the way.

My UDG bag had the ultimate test of durability two weekends ago. I was playiong at a huge outdoor party in Vancouver. My record bag was brutalized by security at the door while they were searching it for drugs and what not. During the night i had at least 3 high people trip and take dives on it. i spilled half a mickey of whiskey on it, and i sat on it for most the night at the other stages. Not to mention tossing it in and out of cars. All the goods inside were still intact. Oh and it has a fake bottom so even though security took over 5 mins searching my bag i still managed to sneak in a mickey of whiskey.

chemical-records.co.uk under equipment, and tell me which do you have, or which do you think is the best. Thank you mate

OMG 80 pounds for that bag... Thats too much I think...

Posted by las3rjock on Aug-15-2004 21:50:

How much do you value your records?

Posted by Special_K on Aug-15-2004 21:57:

you can get the same one but smaller its less expensive. I play 4 hour sets most the time so i use the big bag

If you really need a record bag (for travelling, or gigs) i would spend the money on the high quality ones. If you dont do shows yet or anything, save yourself 80 pounds and use milk crates...

I have 4 UDG bags- all softbag 90 capacity.
My records are my livelihood- so i pay more to protect them

Wouldnt recommend ANY other bag at all compared to these.

I have the limited one with pink interior, a leopard one, an army camo one and another one.
Buy a cheaper bag and expect it to fall apart long before UDG one will.
I still have metal boxes but rarely use them now.

I think youre all right, the vinyl is too expensive to buy cheap bag. Thank you all for your advices

out of interest, did they check the drugs pocket located on the back of the lid insert?

yeah, UDG bags rock, particularly the softbags. not sure if they are already waterproofed, but i sprayed mine anyway with some tent proofing spray and then took it to my mates, on the way it pissed it down. water off a ducks back

i got the same one but red.. if i had of brought it in a store i so wouldnt have chose red, its more of a pink colour... but its still a sik bag.. the flipfront is sick.. i duno how ppl would go tru their records if it was just a bag jammed full of records n no space

tu_face: naw man they didnt look behind either the top or the bottom. I actually keep stuff like demo cd's and what not in the top part. Stuff like booze and other things i would get in shit for go under the bottom panel under my records, I wouldnt imagine security would take out all the records and even if they did the would never know that there is a false bottom.

do you guys buy your UDG bags from the website or can you get them cheaper somewhere else (another website?)?

Posted by Special_K on Aug-18-2004 05:56:

I gto mine from a local record store. They are about the same price as on the net direct from the site. Doubt you'll be able to find them cheaper anywhere.

Do you mean this?

You can buy it from http://www.dsc.fi/dsc/tuote.php?id=...ae9fca62c491347. The site is in finnish so I suggest you to mail them first about delivery and that kind of stuff. [email protected] or [email protected]. I bet you can find that case from elsewhere in europe too than Finland, this is just one option.

I bought UDG softbag Deluxe.. It fits 40 records according to the manual, but I managed to press about 70 into it .. Great thing about this bag is that its totally closed, so when I spill drinks on it, or get stuck in rain, my records will stay dry. Another good thing is that it doesant have that "big-dj-bag" look, so I can use it on other occasions too when needed. It even had a special laptop-bag inside.. So im very satisfied with it..

Posted by djxtension on Aug-20-2004 11:35:

Yup, UDG bags are the best ones around.

I have had mine for over a year now, still no problems. They are quite water-resistant, are comfortable to wear, and protect your records like no other bag.
