ok i got the answer of my question about Owen, here what i got from his interview on realmadrid website.
-How would you define yourself as a footballer?
-Owens main feature is his condition as a goal scorer. I play in the forward position and thats is precisely my job, and even more so with the players of this team. I just want to have a good understanding with them as soon as possible, as well as getting to know the type of football played in Spain. I expect they also benefit from my play. I would like to have a chance to show what I can do.

-Ral, Ronaldo, Zidane, Beckham, Roberto Carlos What teammates in the locker room!
-The best players in the world are here and thats really exciting. I would like to progress as a player and as a person. I hope I can contribute something. I am looking forward to play in this unbelievable stadium in front of such wonderful fans. Coming from such a famous team as Liverpool to an even more widelly-known team. I have been growing as a player since I was 17, but I see I still can give more of myself. Real Madrid can help me to do so and I am sure I will keep on growing as a player. This is a fantastic team to do so and I just hope I will win lots of titles.

-Are you aware that this team is demanded to win titles year after year?
-That does not happen every day. I mean having the opportunity to play with the footballers in Real. This is one of the best assets of this Club. This is the best team of the world and it counts with the best players. Thats why I am enormously proud of having the chance to defend the white shirt. I honestly wish to get all the success with Real, learn new things, give my contribution. I hope all that becomes a reality and I can bring more titles to this club.

-Ral, Ronaldo and Morientes are the current forwards that you will have to fight for a position in the lineup.
-They are all amazing players. They have been playing here for a long time and I understand that fans admire them a lot, but I think we must do our best to carry on winning titles. I know they are the best in the world and I will have to play my best so that I can keep up to them.

Have you noticed that these days you are the centre of attention?
-I expect I will be a centre of attetion for the whole team because I would like everybody to notice me in my first months here. I only know I must ply my best. This is what has always been happening in Real because there are some very special players here, so thats why I am saying I am very excited to be part of this machine. I hope this dream will come true, my name will get very far and fans will admire me.

-McManaman has played here and Beckham is playing now, have you asked them anything about it?
-I spoke to both of them in the past. They already know what it is like to play in Real. I have only been here for a little while, as we spent ten days negotiation the transfer. The whole thing has been very quick for me. I asked McManaman many questions because I have always had a dream: to play in Real Madrid. Now I am here physically and I expect to keep asking both of them many questions.

-What do you think about Santiago Bernabu?
-It is a fantastic stadium with a big capacity. I already knew it because I watched a match here and I can say it is a privilege to play in it. I wish I can do it for many years to come.

-Ronaldo predicts the number of goals hes going to score at the beginning of every season, how many of them does Owen promise to score?
-Thats very hard to answer. I only hope to play well, make the most of every chance, play as a team, do good training I cant tell an exact number, but I would be happy if I could achieve the average I used to get in my Liverpool seasons. I will try to show all my strength, energy and speed to score the most goals I can.

-By the way, which is your first impression of Spain?
-This is very different from England. It has been very hot over the past few days, but my first impression is that I like Madrid a lot. People are very nice, they have wellcomed me. I feel very fortunate. The medical examination went fantastically and I cant complain at all. Starting Thursday, I will be working hard to play my best. I am honestly looking forward to the beginning of it.

-Now that we are in front of the trophy cabinet with all the Europe Cups at sight, shall we meet here again for another interview at the end of the season, after having won the Champions, the Liga?
-Sure, its a great idea. The Tenth would do.

Real Madrid, people complain about man utd, i cannot think of a worse example of a football team other than chelsea.

Posted by torontotrance on Aug-16-2004 19:27:

we have not bought a real expensive player in a while, our mgmt is too concerned with making a profit, lazy mofos. Chelsea is rediculous, I doubt ol chelski can do this forever.

Posted by Billabong on Aug-16-2004 19:34:

Well you talk to any ignorant chelsea fan, which is the majority and they say roman will stay around forever. His sure to get bored eventually, and when he goes chelsea will be left with crippling wages which they cannot pay.

Real true supporters of chelsea know this and voice their concern. Roman is playing championship manager at the moment, and every club in europe loves it, becaues they can charge 10 million more for a player if chelsea are the club enquiring.

They havn't got a good youth system going yet, and if they hope to have any chance, they need to get it going. Arsenal are the masters of buying and selling players, look at their team and their budget, they make chelsea look like stupid yuppies with to much money to spend.

If you didn't win either cup months ago, chances are(no matter the changes made) you won't win it period.

No offense but I used to live in America and it comes down to this.

You support clubs that you dont watch since they are not on and you cant follow them since there is only 1 or 2 channels for footy and thats mostly South American footy.

Spanish people like Real Madrid
and everyone else likes Man Utd

They dont know the first thing about them either.

Posted by SPANIARD on Aug-16-2004 22:59:

Well I've been supporting Real since I was in dippers, when Zamarano was the biggest international star, so don't get on me for being a bandwagoner. My great grandfather supported Real, it's been like a passing on from generation to generation, before Franco was in power.

And yeah, boy do we ever suck. Most clubs will never win a Euro Cup and we are going on double digets! Before you open your mouth and say something, maybe you should analyze the stats, then say something like "Oh, they are a great club but I don't like them" which is appropriate because it's a very reasonable point. But go around the world and say as a Club that we suck and people will laugh at you.

Real Madrid = Franco

he helped them , threatened players to play for RM or he'll #$@@#$%$?% etc ...

nothing to be proud of seriously

and i pity the fools in north america who only know MAN U and REAL

Posted by Virus on Aug-17-2004 02:31:

I dont understand Real Madrids transfer policy. They chase Viera, since they really need a quality defensive midfielder. The deal breaks through so they buy another superstar striker and now it seems like Xabi Alonso is slipping through their hands, on his way to Liverpool.
Real has some amazing players but its all about the attack. Walter Samuel is going to do well I'm sure, but he's only part of the solution. With Viera they could have been the dream team of all time, but if they don't buy anyone before the transfer stop, who will Camacho play there? Beckham again?

Posted by DJGolf on Aug-17-2004 04:59:

I actually know a lot about Real Madrid. I've been in US just for 2years and I loved Real Madrid since I was 10yrs and was in Iran. I was always following them, and now I'm trying my best to follow them as before. I respect your opinion, but that's what I like and believe they're the best. So don't call me fool or stupid, as I said know this team for a long time and love them as well.

Yeah Franco died in the 70's yet we've won 3 out of the last 7 Champions Leagues. Who did he threaten then huh? And by the way, to use Politics with Sports is a low blow, especially when you make up lies about Franco's involvement with the club. I think you're confused to what Saddam Hussein did to the Olympic Athletes of Iraq.

Posted by DJGolf on Aug-17-2004 21:53:

Behold, my arse.

that's what bitches do! Relate politics to sports. I HATE it.

Posted by fastmp3 on Aug-17-2004 22:46:

wether you like it or not , franco was highly involved with RM and helped them a lot !

DJGolf : no swearing

Posted by SPANIARD on Aug-18-2004 02:46:

Obviously you don't understand the history. Franco supported Real YES. Real means Royal in Spanish, which historically are the rich/uperclass sector of Madrid that support the club, which also had been the people to support Franco since they were getting filthy rich from his reign as president and people like this can relate to the club. It's an ideology that makes the club what it is in terms of it's historical backgrounds. Atletico De Madrid, the other team in the city is made up of Working to lower class people of the city which never had the same kind of money.

I can't say Franco didn't help Real because there was too much corruption at that time, but even if he did they still had the money to buy Di Stefano, Puskas and Gento which did things in soccer than probably billions of dollars couldn't buy, just ask Chelski.
