So what to do if you wanna GAIN weight???!
Yeah I eat! But it isn't enough. I take in about 3,000 calories a day...more on weekends.
I'm 6'2" and I weigh 130lb...
Do the math...
I play basketball 2x week when I can and I bike about 15 miles a week on average.
What gives?

up your calorie intake toa bout 6-7000 a day.
My guess is you have a unique metabolism, certain people can eat what they want and never gain a pound. Stretch your diet to 5,000 calories a day and that should gain weight for you, if not see a nutrionist. I'd want to gain about 20-30 pounds if I was you but why care if you are healthy and in great shape. I run so much that I'll have to increase the calories at some point as I train for the marathon. I rather be underweight than overweight.

Swap basketball for weights instead.
I have an inability to eat more though. I try, but I'll do a 5,000 cal day maybe once then get back into the usual.
I also went to the gym regularly (1x week) for 6 months, but I havn't gone in 2 months.

you need to go to the gym more
once a week isn't enough. also how old are you?

I was 6 foot 1 135 lbs forever. gym 4-5 times a week and eating constantly (not big, just all day long) got me to 65. Squats are anabolic and will create human growth hormone. Combine that with a good diet and workout regimen and youll be solid. If I stopped working out right now in 4 months id weigh 140 lbs hehe.

i think a lot of this still has to do with the fact that you're metabolism is still so fast. i used to have a lot of trouble putting on weight, but nowadays...if i don't work out...i would get fat...
Have a pie or two.
130lbs for a 6'2 guy seems kinda weird to me. I'm only a few inches taller and I'm about 210. Makes me feel like a fat bastard that does...
I know girls that weigh more than you do... Scary stuff.
i'm skinny too...you probably have an overactive mind...it makes you burn more if you're just naturally hyper...and i don't necessarily mean hyper as in running around blabbing all the time...i mean like mentally. i'm always on the go, always thinking...stressed at times. i'm the type of person who doesn't really act upon my stressing...i just self meditate and talk to myself to put things in perspective...but that is still more energy i'm creating, so i think a lot of it is mental. plus heredity (everyone in my family is thin), and metabolism are important factors. i eat plenty and go to the gym a lot, but i still think i'm too skinny. i'm 5'5 and i only weigh 107. i should be like 120.
make sure you eat frequently..if you only eat like 1 or 2 big meals a day, it speeds up your metabolism and u actually lose weight. sometimes i'm so wrapped up in what i'm doing i forget to eat. time flies. but i do love eating
especially pizza.
Eat as many calories as possible in as few meals as possible per day until you get to 4000-5000 calories. It would be fat weight but weight still the same.
Just start eating constantly throughout the day, workout more, increase your protein / calorie intake, and that should do it. I was 6 feet and weighed 130, but in about 1-2 months, I have gained about 10 pounds. And, it's not visible fat either; I'm thinking it must be actual muscle that has made me gain weight.
I didn't start putting on serious weight until I was 21/22. If you have a high metabolism, being only 18 it will be incredibly difficult to put on (good) weight. Just get in the gym 3 times a week, and eat meals throughout the day. Not dinner sized, but meals 6-9 times a day.

I'm 6" 2 and weigh 205. About 5 years ago I was about 160. I'm at about a perfect weight right now. I had pretty much the same problem. What I did was just eat a lot of protein - but pretty healthy stuff. I would lift in about 3 month intervals, on and off, but play basketball year round.
Things I would recommend:
Eat a lot of protein.
If you don't lift, do stuff like hiking, rockclimbing, running, etc. You won't get huge, but you'll put on some good weight if you're just active as hell.
Make sure you get plenty of sleep.
Don't smoke or drink anything with caffeine.
Limit alchohol consumption.
That's basically how I live all the time, and I can not work out for 2 months and still have almost a 6 pack going and be pretty firm. Just do some pushups/situps and pullups when I can and I'll maintain.
Good luck putting some weight on. Give it a couple years, I'm 26 now and was skinny at your age too.
im 6'1 124, and trying to gain weight as well...no luck so far.
I wasnt skinny until 2 years ago...i kept growing taller, but not growing wide...it was weird.
I'm 6 foot 1 and 199lbs and I'm trying to get to like 185lbs just can't make it, maybe it's my died (too much carb or something). I run 10km per day at least 5 times a week and my work is also physically very demanding.
I guess I just eat too damn much
and too much beer too. Maybe I should find an energy drink that takes away hunger..
