Cleaning Vinyl

Don't give me that search it up crap...because i'm too lazy

Are there any household items, liquids, you can use to clean vinyl? I got a numark cc-1 today and trying to keep it nice till at least next summer

To clean my vinyl I use good 'ol rubbing alcohol and water (10% alcohol). Works well for me and I don't have to piss away money on vinyl cleaner.

uhh...so put alcohol in water and dilute the alchohol?

yup, it works pretty well actually. Unlike MR. Smashy's i don't use a wetting agent like kodak photo-flo. To me there's not really a need for it. Just be sure to use 90% or higher of isopropyl alcohol and good distilled water.

just get a bag of dry swiffer pads and use them...works great for lint and static problems. If you need to remove fingerprints and such, the above works for that or lighter fluid.

not relley about cleaning

witch was should i stor my vinyl flat or on the side

im asking beacouse i had mine on the sid and on one of my records there is warping going on.

Posted by Zild on Sep-16-2004 21:01:

you must store your records vertically or they will warp

Posted by DjVash on Sep-16-2004 22:29:

I use some alcohol (80% denaturalised), water, and a spray that makes the record antistatic.

speaking of warped vinyl...i've got a record that warped a little and i wanna fix it. i've heard the oven technique works...but any other suggestions on getting that back to normal?
