Jester New Trance Song

Hi guys, this is my second song. I'm relatively new to this so go easy on me, but I appreciate any comments and suggestions you may have. I believe it's one of the best ways to learn. Anyways, hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think.

That's a pretty good start!

You may want to look at spacing the sounds out in the stereo field, adding some delay and other fx onto the sounds, they are pretty dry.

The bass end is very muddy, try using some EQ to separate the kick/bass and bring them more to the foreground.

Definitely read through the production forums here on TA, there are many valuable and just as many invaluable tips.

Keep up the good work and practise hard!

For a start its great, you got nice melodies. really need to work on that kick and bass, like said, lots of info on the web on that. When that first build up comes in, work on trying to get a really big full sound, by layering, using effects, counter melodies etc. oh yeah If you want to get serious about this, dont make my mistake and by a shitload of gear before you invest in good monitors imo. Good monitors are a must for getting that right sound; along with little practice.
Keep on poundin away.

Hey guys, thanks for your replies. I appreciate the comments. What effects do you suggest, pho? I ask because whenever I put even a moderate amount of effects or layering on some sounds, the mix tends to get a bit crowded and loud. Also, do I add effects after or before compression? I'll also try to work on the bottom end.

Thanks again for the tips.
