i don't know how everyone else thinks about this guy, but i practically grew up with this guy. i remember watching football, basketball, and baseball games in the 80's and 90's, when they used to air on nbc. this guy is a sports broadcasting legend.

and now he has the whole night desk to himself for the whole olympics, that huge for him.

kudos for him!

and kudos to his two shows on HBO.

He is a sports broadcasting legend, and an exceptional journalist. Very well informed in every subject he tends to touch, though when it come to pop culture, hes a bit of a stiff. I remember when he interviewed and interrogated Damon Dash, asking how Hip Hop and Rap create a bad mainstream for kids to follow in. He was on the ball for asking certain questions, but when Damon Dash came back to ask him shit, Bob fell a little short on his real knowledge of urban music and its history.

their olympic coverage is the most digusting display of what is wrong with america. it's completely overcommercialezed, overdramatized packaged garbage. i don't know about all the other retards in america, but i watch the olympics to see the best atheletes from around the world compete. apparently nbc thinks the olympics should be some kind of drama. in an hour of coverage you'll likely get about 15 minutes of prerecorded documentary type bullshit about the atheletes histories. this stuff is prepackaged crap, filmed in such a way to create some kind of bond between athelete and viewer. it's utter shit. you have to endure it over and over again; dramatic widescreen, slow motion shots of atheletes sitting around doing nothing while some announcer talks about some stupid teddy bear that helped someone win an event or some shit. i don't give a shit. the best part is that some of them get "emmy award winning cheverolet olympic moment status" which means they are the pinnacle of total crap.

and how can you commercialize an olympic moment? well, fuck, apparently you can commercialize everything in the olympics. why the hell do they have to mention the sponsors of the olympic coverage before going to a commerical break? "this portion of the olympics is brought to you by cheverolet", now watch a fucking 5 minute commercial of some asshole kid driving a shitty chevy corvette. great. now let's go back to coverage but wait, first let's have bob costas and another shitty olympic moment. now let's show 5 minutes of acutal coverage and go back to our sponsors. the best is when you actually get two commercial breaks without even any event coverage. what the fuck is that? american olympic coverage sucks. half of it is commercials, a quarter is dramatic garbage, and the rest is actual coverage.

is it this bad everywhere else?
