i have seen a couple of these videos. INCREDIBLY convincing stuff. dont know if the facts he presents are true, but even if one third of what this guy talked about is true its fucking scary.

it's a torrent downloader file.

http://bittornado.com/download.html

if you get a file link then open with this program... make sure you keep the downloader open until you get at least a 1:1 ratio.

excellent video...very convincing stuff. highly recommend it to some of our more extreme right-wing TAs heheh...

i think some of the later parts might be incomplete...

Posted by Haunted on Aug-18-2004 19:14:

the end part with the illuminati and world order.. was a bit far fetched

Posted by AnotherWay83 on Aug-18-2004 19:16:

yep...the point of the video is not to convince us of who did it, just that the story thats been presented over and over in the media isn't true, and that there is much more to it than most ppl. realize...

just makes us think

I grow tired of the modern liberal strategy of fighting lies and misinformation with different lies and misinformation. The left and right increasingly appear to me as two rats fighting over the same moldy scraps.

pity all of the moderates are malnourished and starved for attention

I agree to an extent. With the recent shift in western politics to the right, the left has become progressively more and more desperate to counter the rightist momentum, so I think disingenuity is becoming an increasinly popular way of combating it. The only problem is, though, that this disingenuity is self-defeating - it's more likely to turn people away from liberal ideas than towards it. While the conservatives (for whatever reason - attribute it to my own political bias if you like) have always been more receptive and credulous to misinformation, emotive arguments and biased sources, the extent to which these sorts of things are entering leftist politics is quite disconcerting.

On the other hand, I don't think you could classify the sorts of people who create these videos as being truly representative of the left or right. "Complete fucking crackpots" would probably be a more appropriate label.

Left politics in the 20th century: Harry Truman and Thurgood Marshall.

Left politics in the 21st century: Bill Clinton and Michael Moore.

I think that pretty much says it all.

But you're right, I wouldn't characterize the entire left by a movie like that. Although it's surprising how many people on the left believe these things.
