Whether or not it's my place to comment on this topic, I'm going to anyway...
Whatever happened to the idea of trancEaddict being a music site??? I see everyone ranting and raving and freaking out over this whole VIP thing because there are too many "useless" posts in the chill-out room.
Who cares? That's why it's called a chill-out room!!!
90% of the time that I'm in these forums, I'm in the music discussion section. Why? Because I'm here to discuss trance music. That's the point of these forums... or so I thought. Who cares about stupid threads in the chill-out room? Ignore them. Like it says, "Talk about what's on your mind"... so what if people have stupid things on their minds? Let them be... unless someone is causing harm, everyone and anyone should be free to express themselves however they deem fit. I believe that having a VIP section promotes elitism in these forums... something which is supposed to not be welcome here. There could be someone out there that contributes just as much as a VIP, but does not get recognized as such... He or she will get the impression that he or she is not really a significant member of these forums, and will not bother coming to the site again. We have to make up our minds here... either we accept elitism in these forums or we don't... and having a VIP section promotes elitism in every sense of the word.
I think everyone needs to be reminded that our focus is on trance music and not this he said/she said BS...

i agree with Tu-face...this place isn't nearly as good as it used to be.....i liked it better when there were like 1500 members....less bullshit.....after reading Yevat's thread and the Mindless one's thread, i'm thinking of early retirement from Tranceaddict set at500 posts.....actually not really, i just probably wont visit the chill out room which really became "the b1tch at all room"....it really isn't what it used to be.....
at first, i just leeched trance
then i became active in the forums
looks like i'll be just leeching trance again soon....

I remember the day the first day of the Chill Out Room on TA. It's not a 'VIP section' or place where useless crap that has no business being on this website collects(alt there is SOME crap-read most of this thread). The COR is here cause the music discussion was getting a lot of threads that had nothing to do with music. Swamper made this section so people had a place besides your precious Music Discussion to rant and ramble, etc. TA is a COMMUNITY it always has been, that involves more than just leeching and talking only about music. There was a time when most people here knew almost everyone else - thru the forums, not necessarily in Toronto or anything, and it was awesome. Now its seems like bickering and direct downloads are all we get...not that im complaining about the downloads. Basically, if you dont like the COR stay in the other topics, its not elitist, just not for you apparently. There isnt a bouncer, velvet rope, guestlist or password to get in here, so back up and think about what you complain about...late/

And tu_face, which discusion do u mean? the should we ban the whats your favorite song question? or....wait thats it. thats the only topic there was before. And the group that posted was soo small. I read the board since october of 2000,and i like it more right now.
Yea there are more flames wars, but there are also way more topics, and there are some discussion topics, where most people can express other things besides music. After all you cant discuss if progressive is better than uplifting, because the answer is personal, it depends on what you like, so its useless to argue.
Also, with the post-count elimination, useless post should reduce.

ok its kinda late...but i feel the vip section can seriously jepordaize the COR cos most vip TAs wud prefer to post there than here...(although a few r active here...its only a matter of time tht they solely post there and the quality of COR will detiorate further)
