Trance Vol2 Ultimate collection 2004

It holds 4 CD's, total of 80 songs. Not too many commercial songs, I found Love Comes again, ATRC and a few others but the rest is relatively unknown trance (to the non-trance audience). I was really excited about this, since I got 80 songs for 22, that's a steal if you ask me. Many of the top10 DJ's have more then just one song on the discs, and that's not a good thing this time. A lot of extremely repetitive trance on it also, the type of song you like to hear maybe once or twice in a mix, but not 8 times per CD. Still very good compilation, you can't complain when you get 80 tracks for that little amount of money (a single vinyl costs me about 8..). They are mixed togheter very nicely by some unknown company (to me at least).

7/10 in music, but you get a lot of bang for very little buck

looks like it's not so *commercial*
the tracklist is very good
sad there are so many tracks mixed/CD

Why would it bother anyone who buys a compilation that the songs aren't 8 minutes ? You don't buy a compilation CD to use to mix in your own dj sets you know .. you put it in your car or home stereo and just chill all the way through the night You simply don't get the lousy intro/outro that we get on vinyl to make mixing easier (no disrespect meant). And it is not commercial imo, they put some big names in it and Tiesto as first song simply to get some others to buy it when they see their names flashing on the case.. Anyway, one of my favourite sets atm is the one from PvD available from this site (the latest one) and almost every song he spins is on the cds.

20 tracks is a bit harsh! 12-14 tracks max!! (close to 80 min)

Posted by Streakfury on Aug-20-2004 13:12:

Doesn't look too bad really, although it is a shame that there are so many tracks per CD. Maybe if they had 5 or 6 CDs and spread the tracks out a little more it would've been better. Most people like 12 or so tracks per CD because not only do you hear the full song (give or take), but it's much more flowing. With 4 minute tracks, no sooner has the build-up started as the tune's finished. :P

Probably worth a look for people who are just getting into the music. It seems like a good place to start.

Indeed! Nice for people who just like trance, but don't know much about it. Lot's of great tracks in various trance styles are included, so nothing wrong with those compilations to me.

These kind of compilations where also my guide into the trance world

Yup same here.

Looks like a nice release, even if the tracks are only 4 mins in length.

Thumbs down

Hey,

've got the vol. 1 and to be honest... I'm not happy with the cd. The songs (hardly 4 minutes) are too repetitive, allways keep on going and going (not a moment of silence on the cd's), the mixing is poor, the "mixing" takes about 15 seconds and then it's done! (Mixed with PC)
I can say: Don't by the following 'Trance The Ultimate Collection' Cd's.

Sorry for my English.
