Initial D

I just wondered if anyone else has seen this phenomenal anime? I just started watching it, and am getting almost addicted to it.

It's a great series. I've only seen the first 6 episodes or so. I even got my gf's roommate hooked on this, lol. Anyone even slightly interested in cars should watch this anime.

Go go Trueno!

I've got the entire first stage on DVD and have seen nearly every episode and OVA. I'm currently watching 4th Stage which is still being released over in Nihon. I love the eurobeat... Really makes me pedal happy in my car.

RX-7's and the Takahashi Bros. all the way, baby!

I have the everything except for the fourth stage on DVD. Gotta love the HK bootlegs.....

But the whole series is pretty hot. Much respect to the FC. followed closely by the Evo's (that might be the second stage, though)

The EVO's are driven by Kyouichi Sudou (III) and Seiji Iwaki (IV). Both in Second Stage.

wow, I was right (about it being in the second stage). There's no way I could remember the names, etc....

I forgot about the Skyline that's in the first stage. *drool* I think it was driven by the leader of the Night Kids, but, again, I can't remember his name.

Sorry, the Skyline is my dream car.

Unfortunately, it was an R32 that was driven by Takeshi Nakazato (Leader of the Night Kids - You were correct ). I'm pretty sure you're thinking of an R34, like the rest of us (especially me).

Yeah, I was thinking of the R34, whoops forgot to say that. But I think the Skyline will be released in the US in the next few years.... 2006, I belive. I can't remember where I read that, though.

But the Kure R33 is money, and I would definitely drive it if given to me.

The Infiniti G35 Coupe is actually called the Skyline, in Japan (where it's significantly better in every way, especially speed).

And yes, a new Skyline (tweeked down for the US... BAH) is on its way in the next year or two.

No wonder I've seen a couple of G35's with the Skyline logo in the rear. Interesting. So any specs for the skyline due out in the U.S.???
Also, why will it get tweeked down? Politics, with regards to competition against domestics??
Seen all of Initial D 1st stage. good series so far: in regards to the racing. All the rest of the anime, I care less for. The only think I hate is Takumi's best friend, who gets on my nerves.

Posted by o0moonman0o on Aug-18-2004 22:34:

it's true that the g35 is a skyline but it's not skyline GTR or the r-series. i remember reading on a website that the g35 is actually V35 skyline (not R35 skyline) in japan. They are stil making the R35.

Wow, the thread got going. I have the first, 2nd, third, fourth, extra and battle stages on my computer. I didn't have to do any of the work either, my friend got em. Only thing that sucks is that some are Cantonese dubbed with subtitles. Itsuki can be annoying, but he's pretty funny, I think. Has anyone noticed how Bunta (Takumi's father) and all his friends parallel on Takumi's friends. The manager of the gas station is Itsuki, just older.

Haichi Roku all the way! And how about the hotties in the S13?

There's an R34 later on. 4th stage.

Oh, I know. I just didn't want to post any spoilers >.<

Posted by NiteMer on Aug-18-2004 23:16:

Ooops! Too late now. Doesn't really spoil much though, givin' that episode. You know what I mean.

Get ready for Initial D, the live action movie!

Hopefully out before Christmas, or early next year!

Anticipating that, as well.

Hmmmm live action. Should be interesting how that turns out. Not sure if the real-life Itsuki (that's the sidekick, right?) is going to turn out well.. might be just too annoying!

Isn't that the point? That would be success!

Woah, can't wait to see who they cast for those two hotties in the s13

*daydreamin*

Live action movie, hell yeah. It looks like they did a decent job of casting for Itsuki. He's obviously the goofy looking guy in the first picture. I guess we'll see how well it turns out. They better have some damn good drivers to pull the tight ass lines Takumi pulls.

Trivia: Did you know that the Trueno is actually the Corrola in the states?

Posted by NiteMer on Aug-19-2004 16:12:

Hell yeah! 1983 I believe is Takumi's model. My friend really wants to get a Haichi Roku. I think that would be awesome. He plans on only having one seat in the car.
