I don't know how I feel about this change. I guess you might need split cueing if you have crappy monitors but I always liked how it *forced* you to mix against an external source. It really helped me to become a better DJ.

After listening to some of Oakey's recent mixes I'm sure he'll be the first one asking for the 'a' model. It's sad what as happened to him really. But I will learn from his example and take better care of my hearing.

Thanks for the post!

Keith

Actually at second glance the EQs only go to +6 now rather than +10. That is kinda lame. I actually will crank up the bass on the XP and MP EQ during big breakdowns to give a more *massive/powerful* sound to the track.

i actually would prefer +6 to +10, just my opinion of course.

Ditto, when i bought my empath, i thought +6db was pretty weak, but the curve of the eqs are very nice, to be honest i would like to see identical curves on many of rane's mixers.

what are "pots"? are they rotary equivalent of faders? I'm in the dark here, somebody help me out.

"POTS" are short for potentiometer. Basically the knob that allows you to adjust the electrical resistance in a circuit, or gain levels, eq's, etc in a audio mixer.
