the highs definitely needs more... the kick sounds too flat... make it more bouncy imo.. the lead is totally alright.. the synth as well... nice work.. a cooler percussion line maybe (cant hear them on their own so I cant make a real opinion about them.. again.. nice

Thumbs up

Sunquest!

Nice blending of synths! That string synth with the bubbly perky background is BEAUTIFUL! The melody is great...right up my alley...I love the melodic stuff!
Great job with filtering but this piece lacks the 'spacial vastness' that it really needs... needs to be more open instead of so closed-in and central. Maybe some ambience with some panning or something.

Dang...is that all there is? I was just gettin in to it! LOL (REPLAY!)

Thanks for contributing to TA, Sunquest! Yer da man!

I liked Secret of the Orient and this one is pretty nice too. Good luck with finishing this track

My 1st impression is that this is a VERY good track!!! This has a good harmonic progression. Here are my opinions on some touch-ups:

*Your perscussion is drowned out. Fix the balance and make sure your kick drum is the most prominent percussive instrument.

*Balance the volume of the pads - there is simply too much volume. The arpeggio and pads are competing to be heard.

*A guitar, piano, or some other lead for a main melody might be nice - might want to try it!

Let us know when the final version is out!!!

Cheers!

melody sound very nice, nu-nrg style.

this time your perc is a bit better, but yes you usually let them drown, i think you give your synths to much room, but then thats the sunquest sound which alot of people like.

yes i prefer the secret of the orient .

This is sounding great, but as others have pointed out you really need to take a look at your levels. It sounds to me like the volume on the bass and main synths needs to come down a bit, and the volume on the percussion needs to be raised. I don't think it would take much to have it sound as clean as Secrets of the Orient. The melodic elements are excellent, it's just the mastering.

hey sunquest!

this is very good! tho there is some issues with the production..

are you using a compressor on kick and bass? If so you need to lower the threshhold and/or increase the ratio.. maybe fine-tune the attack/release settings so the kick and bass comes out more...
the lead melody is very nice! as Massive84 pointed out, nu-nrg style.. which is a very good thing imo..
you should try eq it in a different way because its quite hard to hear it all the time...

you dont have to listen to me.. just giving away a few tips

anyway.. great tune! see you on msn

Wow, just beautiful! I love the progression in this, really uplifting stuff. It is very cool the way you bring in the bass at the start, strikes a beautiful chord with the melody. The twinkling synths in the background sound great too. I really love the bit around 3:00; a bit more stripped back, you can hear the sounds are great and they work really well over the bassline. Nice work! Looking forward to hearing the finished tune

Keep those mastering littlenesses back to the end.

Possibly you include some more elements and have to remaster everything again. This is the thing, I am faced to in nearly every track.

This track here has the potiential to claim a place in my Sunquest Top3. Like it very much.

As I told you, before you wanna do your mastering you have to be sure that the mixing is at its best. If not,it's useless to loose your time on mastering.
I still learning how to get my mixing better aswell

Now I'm listening to the updated version. It's not bad... but the bassline is not clear enough imo. Try to fix some frequencies here and there to get it more distinctive in your mix.
And the whole track is a bit flat... I think some equalizing could help again.
Keep working, you're on the right way !

really cool track, sounds really good

Other then the kick this sounds really good.

Whenver I listen to your tracks after mine, I just say god damn!

You tracks remind me of tracks by M.I.K.E as you both have an excellent sense of harmonics.
