**** the new york yankees

you heard it here first.

Posted by Shamez214 on Aug-20-2004 16:43:

dude... the twins took two out of three this week, what are you complaining about? and don't worry, the yankees won't make it far in the playoffs this year.

Posted by Acid Circus on Aug-20-2004 16:53:

Don't think he's complaining, just letting off steam after being owned by the Yankees for so long! Nice to see the twins take a couple off them, saw Sundays game and they looked comfortable. First time I've saw Santana pitch, looks good!

Posted by La5eR on Aug-20-2004 19:55:

Yeah the yanks are going down. Fuck selig and his ploy to get rid of the only competition in the midwest just to make the Brewers the best in the MW. TWINS ALL THE WAY!

And your point? Nowhere did I mention the Red Sox. You obviously mistake me for a Red Sox fan because of my sig. I'm not. And even if I was, I didn't mention the Sox.

oh...so you're one of these baseball "fans" that has nothing better to do than hate the Yankees? that's productive.

I hate Alex Rodriguez. I hated him way before he ever became a Yankee. I love Hideki Matsui, I like Jorge Posada. My favorite pitcher in all of baseball is Javier Vasquez. I just don't like the way things are run in Steinbrenner land. And most real Yankee fans feel the same way...

Olerude comes back to Seattle, whats he do? He fuckin smacks one down the first base line right under our new main first basemen and scores the two go ahead runs that win the game!!!

Same thing happend yesterday with the Tigers and Carlos Guillen, he gets a base clearing double to tie it in the 5th, then in the 10th drives in a run to win it.

Fuck the Yankees, fuck Boston, and fuck Mariners managment!

What really made no sense to me was that the M's didnt trade Olerud and Aurilia rather than release them. Pretty silly if you ask me. I wish I could watch tomorrow's game. Scott Kazmir is pitching for the D-rays. He was the Mets top draft pick in 2002 and we traded him for Victor Zambrano this year. I hope he does great. Though you can't ask for a bigger challenge than having the first major league batter he face be Ichiro!

you guys actually watch baseball in the UK? Wow...I think i'm only one of 6 people in Canada who still give a shit about the sport these days.

Which is a shame because the Jays and Expos were pretty damn good in the 90's and early 00's. Oh well...

well the strike killed it I think. While it's recovered in the US, it has severely dropped off since 94 in Canada, especially in Montreal. The expos were good enough to win it that year too. I've always hated Toronto in every sport and baseball is no different. Good thing we pounded 'em tonight...good old Yankees. Arod with the winning RBI's too.

But to be honest, I don't think our pitching is good enough. I can see NY falling in the first or second round, depending on who they play.

Exactly. Every team that is playoff bound in the AL this year has beaten the Yankees quite handily in a few games this year. I would love to see the Rangers wreck the Yanks in 3 games, with Soriano getting the winning hit! Ahh... now that would be sweet justice.

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Aug-27-2004 02:56:

I don't know about Texas. NY have always handled them quite well dating back to the mid 90s. It's Anaheim and Minnesota that really scare me. The Red Sox will never beat the Yankees though...it's just a curse they'll never be able to overcome.

Posted by Dj Smitty20 on Aug-27-2004 03:18:

The Astros are struggling...and Petitte is out for the season after having surgery, so that aint gonna happen.

Posted by Shamez214 on Aug-27-2004 03:38:

Yeah. Astros are done for the year. I doubt they'll even come close to the Wild Card.

As for the Rangers, they are a mega-offensive team. A mega-offensive team can definitely take down the Yanks pitching. Of course, the Yankees are also a mega-offensive team. I would like to see that.

Tell me about it, when I was in Toronto this summer went to a few games and the Skydome was empty! Still got to see Halliday in imperious form though.

Posted by eternaenergy on Aug-27-2004 14:31:

bwahahahahaha!! was that a milwaukee brewers fan talkin shit about the twins?? dont be so salty just cuz were gonna own the A.L. central for the next decade. we got the best pitching prospects in the minors (that is truth, not just opinion) and our team is like 20th on overall payroll, average age is 24-25. Twins will have another WS banner by 2010. Brewers?? meh. book it.

Posted by Shamez214 on Aug-27-2004 16:17:

Well... to be honest with you, the Brewers are going to be very good in a few years. They have loads of prospects int he minors.

As for your Twins... did you forget about the team in Cleveland? They also have a solid, great young team. I wouldn't pencil the Twins in as Central champs from now till 2010 just yet...
