Worm Popper where is teh hard trance?

umm, seems like hardtrance is kind of fading away from the glory year of 2003.

whatever happen to fantastic 2003 productions, like... alphazone tracks, scot project tracks and all teh other wonderfull hardtrance tunes we all love? these new hardtrance tunes sound like crap compared to these wonferfull glory hard trance year of 2003. those alphazone tunes are sweet, but nothing compared to 2003 productions from him, the legacy and aftershokk for example.

was "dave joy - second chase (alphazone remix)" 2004? if so, thats like the only wonderfull tune.

i want me some "Dj Tom X - Cocaine (Scot Project Mix)" damnit!

dave joy - second chase (alphazone remix)----->2002

Posted by TranceSpeeder on Aug-20-2004 07:57:

you got me there. ok fine, look at older hardtrance compared to 2004 hardtrance.

Posted by Jessica.S on Aug-20-2004 07:59:

to me hardtrance is dying. less people are 'attracted' to its sounds compared to trance or progressive trance.

IMO it aint going no where, im a hard trance fanatic

my personal fav of the moment is

dj wag - the day the earth caught fire

Posted by wick on Aug-20-2004 08:33:

yeah its very disapointing : (

hard trance rocks.. shokk, flutlicht, scot p, all those guys and more have done fuk all recently (yes i know about shokk n flutlicht so dont tell me). it sucks
ID-T Hard trance 2002 - that album absolutely rocked
ID-T Hard Trance 2004 - average album for hard trance, not much hard trance at all.. theres prolly like 3-4 good songs on it.. and coming from ID-T id say thats a pretty good resource of music so they would basically hear everything that comes out. so if they cant make an album full of hard trance than its pretty obvious that theres fuck all of it around lately..

cmon hard trance producers!! get off ur ass! plz : )

edit: here in melbourne aus hard trance is very popular, with heaps of clubs playing it weekly.. i dunno how the dj's keep playing fresh sets... which most of the time they seem to do..

There is still a lot of good stuff around, maybe a bit different than 2-3 years ago, but it's still there, the Woodshokk combination was amazing (and not the shitty rmx of it, the original) Marcel Woods is playing some damn fine stuff atm also, sure some peopel who beat off to the style a few years back might consider themselves too good for it now or have moved on, but that doesn't mean that there's nothing good at all, it is there, if you look hard enough

I'm pretty sure that is the Bush remix of Cocaine you are talking about. You may have a mislabeled mp3 there my friend.

If you like a similar tune to Cocaine try DJ Tom-X - Nightmare (Bush Remix)

Here are my fav hardtrancers from '04, all of which I feel are stormers:

DJ Wag - The Day The Earth Caught Fire Tune of Tunes!
Derb - Attack
Yakooza - Ecstasy
DJ Scot Project - U

I think there is still plenty of quality stuff going around.

actually, the scot project mix is indeed there, its 99% the same as the bush mix, the the only difference is a little added effect they play a few times in the beginning of the tune.

bollox, hard trance died in like 2002/2003, but since late 2003 and this year it has come back to the fore, just in a differnet guise. It's not all epic hard trance scot p stylee anymore. It's taken on a more techy guise these days but is still as pounding.

Yea, I seem to agree with you. This year has been a bit harder to shop for. And I also feel its loosing its epic hard feel. Kind of moving more into the harder house kind of sound. But then again this is what Ive been noticing, Im sure everybody feels different.

Some of the records Ive picked up this year

Cortez & York 88 MPH Hard Trance EP Volume 6
PBS The Sound Rowland & Wright remix Execute
Zero B Lock Up Alex Calver remix Tripoli Trax
TM Is Music Infextious remix Hard Trance EP Volume 5
Kadoc The Nighttrain Warp Brothers remix Nukleuz
Phil Reynolds & The Coalition Worlds of Doubt Impact

I dont know but, I like them

I would say so, since it blended perfectly into the hard-trance sets I recently listened to. Kai Tracid played it @ Nature One, Derb played it yesterday too.

I would also count "Traffic" as hard-trance.....what is hard-trance and what is not is also a question of personal taste....there aint no clear borderline.

What is it in your opinion?

Posted by Cosmic on Aug-21-2004 15:10:

Hardtrance is still out there, you just have to search more for it...

And 2003 wasn't a golden year for hardtrance, I would say the period 2000-2002 was the golden periode.

Some good tunes from this year:
