deep house 2004 eh, well

Andy Caldwell with Jay-J & Latrice Barnett - Give A Little [Naked Music #27]
the original is very standard stuff, but trentemller & especially jay-j's remix is great
Arvid & Ernesto's - Try [Naked Music #30]
just when i thought naked was just gonna release sub par stuff, this gets released and boy it's great
Miguel Migs - City Sounds EP [NRK Sound Division #90/#93/#95]
not been to impressed with what migs has been up to this year but this seperate 3disc ep has been topnotch stuff
Kaskade - Safe [Salted Music #2]
this guy is great when it comes to doing deep house & (regular) house bootlegs of other songs and this was very good, came out on migs' new label but migs' remixes was lacking massively
VA - The Sound Of OM V4 - LP [OM #149]
om records who constantly releases quality released this compilation and boy is great, and that second Mark Farina track on it just divine
Jori Hulkkonen - A Letter From Cardassia [F-Communication #204]
not quite deep house, not quite electro or something like that, but this is great stuff, aoh and do check out his bootleg remix of white stripes - seven nation army

You reckon? I liked the Vancouver disc the most - 'Making Moves' has just the maddest summer vibe

fastmp3, i hear you on the ditching of trance Still love it, but house just has so much more of an impact on me these days!!

Have you heard Ben Watt - Holding On? From last year and it's just as wicked as Stronger Man...if not better

Posted by dj_lane on Aug-22-2004 08:45:

Spankox - To The Club is nice, but its proggressive house, if you havent heard it, definatly check it out

i have no clue on what is being played these days by armin pvd tiesto and all the others just like you , house music has much more impact on me comparing to any other genre !

1-house (prog/funky/deep)
2-techno (tribal/latin and a bit of italian/swedish)
2-trance (prog and old old school stuff)

dj_lane : thanks for the recommendation but please let's keep this thread for funky and deep house only

Posted by mndeg on Aug-22-2004 10:55:

i listen to everything, prog house, prog breaks, trance, deep house, techno, and others

vancouver is good, and making moves is a tight track, but the 2 versions of pressure brings it down as i can't feel them as much as making moves, with barcelona however i thought both a-side & b-side was pure set filler stuff, unlike sydney which has two strong sides

i didn't notice you had this in your first post, trentemller is so fucking awesome, his debut ep on naked was like massive, late night cab driving is just as nice as le champagne

Posted by fastmp3 on Aug-22-2004 13:24:

guys have you ever heard of Sean Ward ? he's a kick ass producer from Vancouver , i don't know if he released something year but the stuff i got from him in 2003 was simply OUT OF THIS WORLD !

i recommend these two to start :

Sean Ward - Spacecruisin'

and

Sean Ward - vintage Boogie

Posted by Pointy on Aug-23-2004 01:50:

Sean Ward eehhhh?? Shall check it out

Also have a search for The Deephouse Souldiers. Their 'New Dawn' EP from last year n then the 'Mile High House' EP from this year are both fucken smooth - especially the 'Miles Till Dawn Mix' of 'New Dawn'.

A CD you should also check out is Kevin Yost's "Small Town Underground 2" from last year. It's fucken sweet ass house music - Kevin Yost - 'Stronger Love' and 'Feeling' are both beautiful.

Also check out The Timewriter, one of Plastic City's premier artists. Two albums - "Jigsaw Pieces" from 1998 i think and "Diary of a Lonely Sailor" from 2002. They're both absolutely stunning albums. Really warm deep tech-house, truly unique shit.

And Montana, as for Trentemoller.....*ouffffff*
