LTU vs USA [some thoughts]
hell, the gold medals were supposed to be ours in Sydney... oh well, Athens not too bad also... it's (will be) superb to become the European champions and Olympic champions in one year... hangovers are guaranteed for a week [you can just immagine what major party took place yesterday night in Vilnius]
-----
USA 1992 - Dream Team,
USA 1996 - Dreaming Team,
USA 2000 - Team without dream,
USA 2004 - No Team, No Dream

It will be interesting to see how Lithuania go in the finals. Seeing them play Australia today they are such a good team, they play so well together, a very talented group.
Unfortunately I have been unable to see how Group B is shaping up, Spain has finished top right? Or was it Argentina?

USA sucked lollipop as they've never b4 2. how can they possibly call themselves proffessionals if their simplest foul statistics are 22/33 (afgans would play alot better) 3. congratulate us once again. a min ago LITHUANIA 100 : AUSTRALIA 85 |
The USA has one point guard, one center, and a bunch of dunkers that make up the whole team. This isn't what Larry Brown (the coach) and the US Olympic Committee had in mind for their team.
All of our top players dropped out either for security reasons, injuries, or personal reasons.
They have no shooters. One guy who's never played an NBA game. The team's average age is under 24. They have no real 3-point threat.
I still think they can win the gold. Iverson and Duncan need to step up and take over these games.
I think that the Detroit Pistons could beat every team in the Olympics. They're used to playing together, these guys are not.
To bash the US simply because they're playing in a different league wtih different rules and different play is not clever. Give them a break. Oh well, you can continue bashing them based on a past game, but the U.S will win Gold and they will show an example of a hell of a beating versus Angola today, who are the worst male Basketball team in the olympics right now.
By the way, the 2000 U.S Olympic Team was like a Semi-Dream Team. They were not a team without a dream.

| Originally posted by monoxide and who said that? what criteria are you reffering to? NBA rules? if LTU players are ignorring NBA and doesn't want to play for NBA, that doesn't make them worse. ok, pointless discussion. obviously not many here know the real position/situation of international basketball. |
