Room 2:

The final Gallery of the month is fittingly on the Bank Holiday weekender. Why you ask? Well, cos youll need that extra day off work to recover from potentially one of our biggest nights of 2004, thats why! On Friday 27th August, The Gallery proudly presents Armin Only 8 Hours of Armin Van Buuren, live at Turnmills!! This will be the first set of its kind ever in the UK and an exclusive opportunity to see the full musical repertoire of one of the worlds biggest talents in action for one night only! Well, you just cant do any better than that really can you? Rather fittingly, Gallery resident Gavyn Mytchel (recently signed up by Armin himself for his own Armada Record Label) is the only other DJ to play alongside Armin in the main room and will warm up for Armin!! If it all gets a little too much for you in the main room, then make your way into the backroom, where Soundworx will be dabbling into the deep, dark and tribal side of house. Resident Kev KGB Bird will be joined by Caf Mambos sublime resident Pete Gooding and Istanbuls DJ Met who totally rocked the show last time he was in London. Jon Barber returns on warm up duty.

Whew, that was a great night..

I'd love to know what that track was that he played after Communication...

i went
got to 10 oclock last night and i thought fuck it im bored and its only a tenner

was class actually
started off with all his proggy trancey stuff like talk like a stranger, holden and thompson - nothing, brian eno - and ending, tilt - world doesnt know, nathan fake - outhouse, vadim zhukov tune etc.
then played some mint trance above and beyond style i suppose
then after about 4 hours he was playing kinda filler stuff so i had a wander and a sit down
came back and he was ragging off some quality vocals and classic tunes - silence, urban train etc.
then he went a bit harder than i'd ever heard armin play, was a bit suprised
and finished with some more vocals and classics, he ruined binary finary with a southern sun accapella over the top but apart from that was good ending

i guess i enjoyed the first 4 hours most tho, prob cos i was still pissed

overall enjoyable night

i dont know why but armin is obsessed with ruining tracks by slapping them together.

I thought the ending was excellent, and I'll tell you why:

I got there just after midnight.. first thing I did was jump up on the boxes in front of the DJ booth to give Armin a quick handshake..

I leant over and said "Have you got Sound of Goodbye with you?", and he said "Yup, I'm going to play it later". Fantastic, I thought..

Seven and a half hours later, as his finale, he plays it :-). But that was a moment worth waiting for.. I seriously hope he releases the Dark Matter remix sometime soon!

Overall, excellent night.
