Nocturnal vs Space

Do you guys think Nocturnal has a fighting chance or not? I think they do. Space hardly ever plays trance anymore. And I just found out not too long ago that Edgar V is going to be one of the residents@ Nocturnal. Sweet!!!

Posted by DarkAngel on Aug-26-2004 11:07:

Read This!

If Edgar is a resident, then it defintely has a good chance, me thinks. Any club that supports trance, unlike that kuntrag Luis Puig, will thrive.

Posted by LiquidX on Aug-26-2004 11:42:

Something we must see. EdgarV does not only plays trance. He Plays from Tribal House to Breaks to Trance and Techno.. he's a very varied DJ. So lets see. Besides, been realistic, Miami is a very "Housy" city.. but hey, its yet to be seen.

this club will defintely put Envy out of business-------which is fine by me.

and if its as good as advertised(website looks delicious) its going to give Space a run for its money. i think it will come down to who brings in the talent. hopefully Nocturanal brings in alot of people that Space doesnt like say (ARMIN?!!!) makes me wonder why space started a friday afterhours....(to compete with envy or is to start a new nite because their saturday domination will have competition come october????)

Hey Ry, what's Nocturnal's website? It may hurt Space's business, but it's straight up more Muzik...

with nocturnal opening, i think envy is gonna have to return that alpha dynacord sound system they bought since they wont be able to pay it, and hopefully get rid of players, wtf is that! waste of space! nocturnal can probly now book the dj's we always wanted that luis didnt want, and i know rick is gonna work at nocturnal so he can throw in the good word of what dj's to bring

do they need bartenders?

Posted by 240turbo on Aug-26-2004 22:31:

Supposedly, mid october. Personally, I think it's going to kick ass. With all this competition in downtown, the consumer will always benefit. As far as Players goes, don't knock it yet, It's not a club but it's a nice pre-club hangout spot. bowling, pool, etc. And the drinks are cheap, lol. I paid $6 for black label!!! At Space you're easily paying $12 bucks. Like I said, competition always benefits us in the end.

its only 25 minutes from my house,

Nocturnal isn't intended to be competition for space at all. They are having a different approach as far as format, layout, music, residents, etc. I think that everyone will find that what you will find at Noc will not be the "Miami Norm".

The fact that it hasn't opened yet is a testament to the dedication of the team behind it to make sure that the final result is top notch.

I know I for one am VERY excited....so far some of the players involved: Edgar V, Stryke, DJ Craze, Aquabooty events, and a few more that haven't been officially announced. (Or forgot!) *lol*

All I can say is that from the looks of things over there, I might come out of hibernation and quit being so damn antisocial sometime in late October.

Jeskot, I'll try to let you know if I find out when they will start hiring bartenders there.

i think nocturnal will shake things up and then some. with such varying styles of edm (much needed btw in this city)

i dont like techno much but it does need to be played more. too much house in miami......

and with aquabooty on the patio and edgar throwin it down nasty in main room. its gonna be a treat for everyone....

Posted by 240turbo on Aug-27-2004 00:51:

The good thing is that there will be a lot of variety, and stuff that Space wouldn't dare play. There is no doubt in my mind that it will be out of hand.

/me waits for rick to hook it up at nocturnal.

Persephone could you find out if they are looking for new djs as well?
Or if anyone else knows who to contact to hand out a promo or something like that?

thanks

I think they might have their residents in line already, but it wouldn't hurt to gete your demo in there. I'll talk to a friend of mine that work there that books some of the DJ's. If you want to email me your bio/resume and bring me a demo maybe some monday at MIA's I can get it to him.

more trance please.

oh and erm if Nocturnal does hit Miami with lots and lots of trance they will blow Space's face out of the water. and they can hopefully steal Tisto and PVD from Space...finish those contracts and move along. Plus I saw the site...the rooms are beautiful and omfg a sushi bar...come on...and places to SIT...ok. In a while it will be like Space who?

plus I don't think many of you would be disappointed with Space going bye bye.

I would be. More clubs, more competition, better djs, maybe lower prices.

good point, i think persephone made a good point too that nocturnal is not supposed to be competition for space, its a different concept. but yeah hopefully the competition proliferates into more talent getting booked over here in miami. plus nocturnal looks a much more of a up scale club than space, so it will be a nice change of pace, not seeing all the dirtbags and drug addicts you do at space(but who knows, afterhours clubs attract that element) and i think it will make miami a more well rounded club experience. but i dont think in the long run that its really going to hurt space(maybe short term at first) as long as space keeps bringing in the talent they are so adept at doing. my opinion is the more clubs the merryier, life is all about options.
