Do You Want to Own a Gun?
I don't i honestly do not see why i would ever need one in my home.
Maybe if i took up hunting, but then i'd rather borrow one.
Never fired a gun, although i would like to try under controlled circumstances as i think it would scare the shit out of me.
Would you, and why?
Are americans more likely to have one? As this is my (mis)conception.
(and yes thought about this from the 'do you own thread')
.
no
the only gun I would want would be a pistol... It'd end up in my car... I have road rage...
**EDITED for spelling mistakes**
Don't want or need guns. Only cause trouble. And it is no misconception that Americans are more likely to have one. But there are other parts of the world where they are more likely to be had.
There are 7 guns owned for every man woman and child in Alaska
they still think of themselves as first defense against Russia.
Everyone thinks of guns as weapons, but the definition of a gun is a tube that releases a projectile. The purpose of such a thing isnt in the definition for a reason. Its because you can do whatever you want with it.
Last week I went up target shooting with my friends. We do it a lot. Its 30 bucks for 2 hours of awesome fun.
I have no expectations of ever having to use my guns for self defense. I live in a really nice area.
This thread is gonna be a "but people die all the time from them, America has a lot of gun related deaths, I dont see the point, they are useless, bla bla bla"
Theyre fun.
Also for you inactive people: when you camp with bears you better be damn well prepared to defend yourself or make some noise to scare them. And fuck animals. Id rather have them dead than me if they attack and im not going to stop camping because I might have to kill an animal (been doing this shit for 10 years, only fired once and it scared it off).
Its an extremely small portion of the population that uses them for killing people exclusively. Robbers, thieves, home-owners defending their stuff.
If you arent an American, you wouldnt understand. Americas minute-man is a very deep part of our culture.
so yeah, just because you "dont feel like owning one" doesnt mean a lot of other people feel the same.
Every time Ive taken friends whove never shot a gun shooting, they love it. Be safe, be safe, be safe and everything turns out fine.
Im trying to cover everything in this post cuz im gonna get pissed reading ignorant reponses
i dunno how many guns are in other countries,...so i think ya gotta google some stats.
guns have their purpose, some feel safer with one, some just love to shoot, some love to hunt.
I have a few buddies that have a few guns and rifles and all they do is go to the range and shoot off some rounds. I highly doubt the majority of you would ever understand why they do, but hell, they love it.
i have no desire to own one at all.
whats with all the gun threads?
No, my ninjar skills are awesome enough
im not an american
I'd love to have a gun cos they kill around 11,000 ppl a year in the US..simply awsome! Long live guns!!

I'm an American and do not own a real gun. I have a paintball gun, but that's different. My mom was always anti-guns though, and she is Norwegian. So is my dad, so I'm first generation American. That has influenced my view. I have fired guns before, but have no desire to own one. Most times you shoot the wrong person anyway. I'm not willing to take that chance. I do have a marine knife though, in case someone tries to break in. Don't know if I would ever actually use it, but I got it for free. It's badass. KABAR rocks!

i own a 12 guage pump shotgun that i use for hunting....it's still at my parents house though....i gotta remember to bring it with me next time i go.....guns are fine as long as you know how to use them and are safe and responsible. i go clay pigeon shooting sometimes, and its very fun...i wouldn't buy a handgun though....i don't really think of it as a means for defense, unless like previously mentioned, you are camping in bear country
we (americans) don't shoot our guns in the air when we get excited though....

i dun own a gun, but i would love to. i have always wanted to learn how to shoot at firing ranges and and stuff. it just seems like a lot of fun...and well, i jus like guns okay? i wudn't go hunting cuz i dun find joy in killing animals...but it is prolly not recommended that i own a gun as i have anger management problems and self-destructive tendencies. *shrug
NO, I don't want to own a gun and even if I did, my country's gun laws are a bit strict at times. It's hard to get a carry permit at times and to legally be able to carry a gun 24.7 is virtually impossible to obtain.
I have a Remington Model 700LH 30-06, a Remington Model 870LH 12ga. shotgun, and Franchi 2500 Over Under 12ga Trap Shotgun, MHK Side by Side 12ga. shotgun. All of which are for hunting big game, upland and waterfowl, and the trap gun for clay target sports which I shot on the University Team several years back. I miss shooting at Nationals
I only have desire to get a sporting clays / waterfowl semi-auto...such as a Eureka.
It's simply part of the way of life around these parts to own hunting rifles and shotguns

shooting ranges are fun, especially ones wehre you can bring your own stuff to shoot up. i think i'd make a pretty good sniper hehe...(not too into handguns though, see them more as offensive weapons rather than defensive weapons or recreational gear.)
guns don't kill people. bullets do. I thinks guns are good. Hell if some bastard crosses the line i call my home... BLAM. that'll teach him a lesson not to steal. I just say "He's coming right for me!" right before i fire. Yeah they can do some crappy things, but ugh... what doesn't. As long as they do background checks i thinks it's all good. 4th Admendment rocks!
I've got...4? if I remember correctly, none of them registered cause the Liberals can go fuck themselves up the ass. Wait, I think they like that, they need a good eye fucking.
