Major Fruityloops Crash
I've been using fruityloops for a couple of years. I just sold my pc to upgrade but kept my soundcard. Please read previous and current spec.
Previous spec:
Asus P4S533-X Mobo (533 FSB)
P4 2.4Ghz Proc (533FSB)
1Gb DDR Ram (266Mhz)
Terratec DMX 6Fire 24/96 Sound Card w/Breakoutbox
Seagate SCSI 17.5Gb C:
Tekram dc395-uw SCSI Controller PCI card
WXP SP1 (Legit)
Everything worked fine.....Until I upgraded to:
Asus P4P800-E Deluxe Mobo (800 FSB)
P4 2.8 Prescott w/HT (800 FSB)
1Gb DDR Ram (400Mhz)
Same Terratec as above
Maxtor 120Gb HD (partitioned as 2x60Gb, 1 w/XP 1 unpartitioned atm)
Now when I play tracks made/saved by fruityloops from my old system via the same version of fruityloops which is now installed on the new system, my computer freezes completely after a few minutes. The sound hangs in a short loop, like a BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. No CTRL ALT Delete, No Mouse, No keyboard. I have to do a hard reset then not even a "computer has recovered from a serious error" message. Like nothing happened. I'm at my wits end seeing as I can't use FL on my new system, so if anyone can help me out.............Please help me out.
I've searched everywhere for incompatibility issues, latest drivers, latest updates etc etc.
That sucks goat ass...u try seeing a specialist?

Hi, I've also got the Terratec DMX 6 Fire & i've found it a little temperamental. Some of the more recent drivers are a bit unstable and this may be the cause. What driver are you using currently?

Dezma - what drivers have you found the most stable?
Kev K - I've had the most success with the original drivers on the CD I got with the card - if you want a copy, I've uploaded them here:
http://www.apws09.dsl.pipex.com/DMX_6_Fire(121)drivers.zip
I've also found it best to completley get rid of the old drivers before installing new ones. Do a search in c:\windows for the following files and delete them:
ASIO88MT.Dll
AUDIO3D.DLL
CRLDS3D.DLL
DMX6FIRE.INF
EWS88WDM.SYS
Good luck!
The driver version i'm using is 5.40.3.130
I don't remember if I installed this driver from the cd. I do remember downloading the latest driver and using it on my old system and having problems with it though. I'll uninstall the driver making sure to search for and delete the files mentioned by Stuart Silver (grazi) before I reinstall from the cd (which I still have).
Thanks to you all. I'll let you know how it goes very soon.
I uninstalled the hardware from device manager then searched for the files. I found none of the files mentioned above in my c: so I restarted and installed the drivers from the cd. The problem is still there but thanks for the suggestions guys.
Peace out.
My FL Studio 4.5.2 seems to have a heart attack when I load my novation vsti's (Bass-Station and V-Station), it just freezes and I end up losing all I have done! This new/latest version seems more unstable than the previous 3.4 I used! I can't answer your question unfortunatly, but maybe e-mail FL themselves to get some guidance!

Creative Labs Audigy!
I would suggest swapping sound cards. New drivers alone might not do it... maybe there is a compatability issue with your new motherboard. Who knows? But like I said, I'd try a new soundcard.

I guess the first thing to do would be to update both your drivers, for you video and your sound card.
Many thanks for all your suggestions. The problem now seems to be fixed.
I have since updated my mobo BIOS got a load of new drivers for my video card (nvidia 61.77), bios, lan etc etc. My on-board lan was giving me jip as well btw, now i'm on wireless its fine.
I do have another problem however in that i'm getting noise coming through my terratec card. It's a hissy scratchy noise even when nothing is playing. It's quite low in volume but noticeable.
I might post it on a new thread but I recall reading something about this before somewhere so i'll post if I find it.
Stuart Silver, can you tell me if you had a similair noise problem with your terratec?
Thanks again.
