Envio - Love Poison

This tune deserves a thread.Massive tune and easily a contender for best tune of 2004.Envio is really on fire lately. As on Sunset Highway (one of the best tunes of 2004 IMO) he used a quitar melody and oh boy. It's simply amazing,a bit mellow seems to me which makes it even better.Top quality and surely a tune not to be missed. You simply have to listen the quitar melody as this tune is all about the melody (this is also said and for his remix of Hidden Logic - Time ).Some promos were released two months ago and it will be released on Armada Music (TBA,not exact date).

yeah it sure is beautiful! im a sucker for guitar strings like that (like in 'Under the Sun', 'Crystal Dreams' etc)

did Envio make those guitar sounds with a VST plugin thingy or does that require hardware?

i think it's the best envio production.

i quite like it tbh, but not really one of the best of 2004.

Same ol' same ol'.
Get some new sounds already.

a agree

his best production
i love that guitar

It is Envio's best production by far but it's still meh it doesn't really have anything besides the catchy quitar melody.

yeaaaaaaaa the guitar breakdown is aaaawesome

This is good, but no where near as good as Time to Say Goodbye. That was amazing. And there has been a release date for this for a long time.

Its out October 13th.

The breakdown in this track is absolutely beautiful. And i agree much more mellow than Touched by the Sun and Time to Say goodbye. I really liked both those tracks, but didn't like the breakdown with either of them so much because it slowed them down way too much.

It's nice but Touched by the sun still is his best IMO..the strings are so beautiful

Posted by Hanki on Oct-04-2004 16:42:

These guitar sounds in the middle of the track are simply great! I'm dreaming then! But IMO this track is too long and the guitars are too short...Also think, that Envio has done better tracks, but this one is also very good! He's becoming one om my favourite producers right now...

I'm guessing he has a specialized guiatr plug in. Those sell for some bucks, but they are good. He also probably has a real electric guitar...judging by the sounds themselves and the melodies...they just seem the kind of melodies a guitarist would conjure..

Posted by NoisyNeil on Oct-05-2004 11:22:

Quite average, ... actually
Not as much power as the ones before, ... a shame! But ... there's always the Envio Remix of Syndique's Lost Thoughts which is great!

Posted by marcooz on Oct-05-2004 17:42:

this guitar owns me at the end that loop is a bit boring, it should be longer imho...

Posted by starglider on Oct-05-2004 19:26:

Stop using guitars already, Envio.

Whats wrong with guitars? They form the basis for most uninventive and repetitive music that dominates our popular culture. At least envio is doing something creative with them.

The intro sounds good and promising, but that guitar melody doesnt do it for me. Maybe it will grow on me. I like "Touched by the Sun" much better.

We see that with many artists... But I'm sure it's a periodic thing.

Anywayz, I think the main guitar sound needs quieting at the high ends and that the tune is kinda banalic...

With that said, I really luv this track... Very well constructed and sound quality nears perfection... at least 8.5/10 for me.

Posted by DiMethGuy on Oct-06-2004 22:05:

good track...a little too much guitar tho for me.

7/10

There's nothing wrong with them. I love guitars in trance (or EDM in general). What's wrong is Envio rehashing his tired sound for God knows how long.

Touched By The Sun didn't really impress me to be honest.I still believe that Sunset Highway and Love Poison are the best productions of Envio.Sunset Highway is for me the best surely, such a dreamy tune with these beautiful quitar melodies.I really want Envio to keep using quitar, you can't find many tunes with quitars in order to get bored
