Dunno DRAMA in Dallas

So I have been hearing all this hype about a new EDM club called Drama on Knox / Henderson and 75 in Dallas. I have also heard it is impossible to get in without knowing someone, so my question is: Is there anyone in Dallas (Cubano or whoever) that knows anyone here. I would like to check it out, but apparently you have to be on a guest list. Thanks

dude why would you wanna go to swanky ass place that dont let you in unless you know someone?

Posted by D Dubya on Aug-28-2004 19:27:

Cause those are the places I like to go. And I usually have the connections to get in. The prettiest girls are there, the music is awesome, the scene is just real classy. I am not sure if that is what Drama is since I haven't been there, but typically that is what I like. I don't like the hole-in-the-wall places that serve cheap alcohol and have a loosely enforced dress code. I understand why people don't like the more upscale places, but I just think theyre a better place to be. No fights, older crowd -- I'm old

Word, I'd be interested too. I'm old also. I was extremely dissappointed when Seven closed because, in my opinion, it always had a good crowd, atmosphere, and music. I haven't been out since then because all my other club experiences have been pretty distasteful. I still need to check out Eight though, per Dirk's reccomendation.

Ygrene, yea you do. I think you would probably really like it, if for nothing else the music and atmosphere. Don't expect it to get crowded though until about midnight or 1 (just like anywhere else in this city it seems). If you manage to talk to the owner of Eight (he is always behind the bar) he is very friendly and will always remember your name from then on. Service is the tops.

I totally agree with you about Seven. I had the best times there and met a lot of cool people there. Since it has closed down, I haven't been back to Dallas.

I also have to agree with Dirk about clubs like Drama being classy and having the best music. Without a doubt, you know the best looking women are going to be there.

So Dirk, where is Eight? I would like to check it out the next time I'm in Dallas.

Oh yeah, I'm also older and don't like the younger crowds that want to fight. I want to be the guy on the couch, working on two women.

Pheonix, thank God you get it... exactly, the lounge type intimate settings are the best to hang out with friends, meet nice girls, etc. I really think it is an older view, the big sweaty clubs and fighting crowds and so forth loses its flavor quickly.

Eight Lounge is on Lower Greenville. If you know where the Beagle is and the Billiard Bar, it is right between the two. Silver doors, waterfall across its only window, neat looking place. Usually there is no cover unless someone is headlining. Plan on valet unless you are willing to walk, there is hardly ever spots close by.

I swear I should be on their payroll for how much I promote them

I'm preatty much hooked up in all those clubs. A close friend of mine knows some people ......

I just returned from summer vacations so I'm not sure how strong are my friend's connections.
I'm also clueless on what are the upcoming major events here in Dallas (or anywhere in Tx.)

Back to the idea of clubs...

Eight is good; it's medium sized, big bar.
Lush is also very good, good atmosphere -- amazing girls .
Now, this DRAMA I still haven't had a chance to try it out but i've heard it's a very good place.

I'll get back to you guys if I can get in, and get some people in.

Of course I can't get any of my fraternity brothers to go with me, so it's just me and my roommate. Didn't try tonight.... Still a drunken time at the Manhattan Bar as usual. Keep me posted if you got the connects to get in because I would love to try this place out. From what I hear, it's the place to be.

Found this:

Drama Room

Sounds like it's not necessarily exclusive but does have VIP areas. My gf and her gf's tried to go there last night but got lost.

No, the Mahattan Bar is in Uptown Dallas -- About a block from my place. I don't think I could make the drive to Arlington to go party and then have to drive back on 30.... Scary curves and barriers. Swimsuit comp sounds like a good time though

Oh, and guess who is going to be in Dallas in a couple of weeks?

I haven't heard anything. But I do know there is a club that's 4 stories high! It's going to feature many clubs in one from what I understood. They're planning on opening it in 05 they're just pulling funds together. If I get more info I'll let you know. I don't know the location of this place but rumor has it that it's right outside of Deep Ellum .

Posted by D Dubya on Sep-02-2004 17:24:

That might be cool as long as it's not a Graham Central Station....
The one problem I have found with the multi-club thing is that you have the country bar with the ghetto rap bar with the heavy metal bar. Lots of fights and stuff happen there and the scene gets pretty scary with all the conflicting personalities

what grahams are you talking about?

mulit level could turn out to be cool as shit but outside deep ellum bad times everytime i go the only 3 times ive gone bad things happen to me not fun

Multi-Clubs are cool. Just party a couple of nights at Space or Opium Garden down in Miami, and then re-think that idea of Multi-clubs. Ive been to some huge multi-clubs some in the US and some in Israel (the closest to 4 floors was in Israel)

The location for this club is very important, for the area inside deep ellum won't attract all the masses of people that are needed to fill up a place like that...

Also a place like this has to go on to the afterhours. !!

-- Dj Cubano, please keep us posted with this new super club.!!
