anybody listen to 'the streets'?

just popped this cd in my cd player a few days ago and can't get enough of their new album, "a grand don't come for free". you may think this is unrelated to edm but.. it's really electronica music! anybody heard it yet?

Haven't heard that album, but I saw them live @ Ultra 5 and it was tight. Too bad most people didn't think so.

I like 'Dry Your Eyes'

utter talentless garbage, some geezer talks over a backing sound, hoo de doo.

dry your eyes only made number one because it was a cover.

^^^^^^^ i dont need to add anything to that

i like dry your eyes, but 'blinded by the light' is the best track on the album. not sure why they released 'fit but you know it' first.

you may think it's utter talentless garbage, because you may not understand the pure genius that the album entails. if you listen through a couple times you'll see that it's a unique story of his life and it'll make more sense to you if you give it a chance. however, just listening to the singles alone won't nececarily impress you.

Sort of gimmicky concept stuff... it's a hell of a lot more listenable than most pop stuff, but I wouldn't call it particularly good. Makes you laugh, can make you hum, but it's not life-changing music or anything.

It's not a cover, but Mike Skinner sampled some strings which a band have claimed they wrote, but which he thought he found on a sample disc.

I bought the CD a couple weeks ago, Blinded By The Lights is definitely the best song on the album, I'm happy somebody finally agrees with me.

Also, he produces, writes, and records everything ALL by himself. I give Mike Skinner his due props for that.

I haven't listened to the rest of the album, but IMHO "You're fit but you know it" has some pretty funny lyrics. Like System-J said, its a lot better than all the pop shit out there.

Look for a track called "Dry Your Eyes Becks". Somebody made it after Euro 2004 when David Beckham missed the penalty. It has the same music as The Street's song, but with a guy sounding like Beckham singing the lyrics, having a cry.

Hilarious!
