I'd try the search... Look into Ortofon and Shure, quick answer.

Ortofon Concorde or Shure Whitelabel. The whitelabel is twice as expensive as the concorde. The concorde will do, but if you want to go better, get the whitelabel... Personally, I'd suggest the ortofon Concorde, since it's less expensive

I've heard that people have loads of problems setting up the shure whitelabel. On paper it is the best needle in the business thou. I prefer ortofon - easy to install, work well, reliable.

Dont think so... Bought mine a month ago and it works good, I didnt have any problems installing the cartridge

I think they are great and they look better like ortofons

Get the Nightclub E. Very good needles, just like the Concorde pro.

Remember: ALL ORTOFON cartridges are the same! It's the needle that differs! So if you don't like your Nightclub E, get a Concorde Pro needle and you have a Concorde Pro!

Actually, the whitelabels are cheaper than any/most of the concords.

The Concord PRO's aren't. They're about half as expensive as the whitelabels. Here the Whitelabels are as expensive as the Nightclub E's, so if I had to choose between the Nightclubs or the Whitelabels, I'd go for the whitelabel.

The nightclub E offers about the same as the Whitelabels. I think you should see whitch one you like best...

thanks for the input. i think i am gonna go with ortofons since the ability to change the needle sounds pretty good.

Whitelabel here is cheaper then concord because they sell concord in a set.

Here in the US, concord pros go for ~$130 while whitelables go for $110. As for the concorde nightclub-s those are around $170+ or the nightclub-e is $190 to $230.

I would take Concordes over the Whitelabels any day. The whitelabels are definitely NOT a better looking cart, plus they are a bitch to set up. The sound quality is not comparable, just different.

My advice, personal opinion, spend your money wisely, go with the Concordes, be happy.

Is that right? Didn't know that!

Might buy those Pro S carts I was talking about on another topic after all. So you can just swap the styli over, wow. Is that right for OMs as well as Concordes?

imo, the whitelabels wern't that hard to setup. One thing i've noticed about whitelabels, they are much easier on vinyl than many of the concordes i've used.

Ortofons tend to have problems with their connectors. I've owned both the Ortofons and the Whitelabels and I myself am going with the Shure M44-7s.

That's actually a bit overexagerated. If you regulary (VERY regulary)take off the cart, it's true you'll find that at some point, the connectors of the tonearm will have gotten pushed backwards. This shouldn't be a problem though, since on good tables, there is a little screw in the tonearm that when you turn it, it pushes the connectors back forwards again.

Exactly. One of the major advantages of Ortofon. Also goes to the Tonar Banana, since that one's been produced by Ortofon as well (just carries a different name and a higher pricetag ), but all Ortofon needles fit in a Banana as well.

The only difference between an OM and a Concorde is that an OM fits in a headshell. Sometimes it looks like the Concorde is more stable, but I'm not completely sure. Might be my imagination... Needles in an OM fit in a Concorde and vice versa.
