ELE - Safari 2004
Hi,
Last year I posted the original track here and got some quite nice and helpful comments. So some months ago I remade it in a bit harder style.
ELE - Safari 2004 (192 kbps, 13.3 MB)
comments appreciated
no one?
i remember the original... this one is obviously much better
bassline is really cool, good sound, not as weak as the original one. melody is nice, takes u on a journey...
really great tune, i can see/hear many improvements, well done
I dont know the original because I'm new here.
This track starts off very nicely, the percussion is great, maybe a little too dry - some bright revern on those might help them to settle into the mix a bit better.
HiHats are sounding good, and grooving nicely with the bassline. I particularly like the sound effects you have used in this tune, its nice to hear something like this rather than crash symbols all the time.
The whole mix seems very loud, I guess you might have used the L1 Ultamaximizer on this? Loud is good, but you loose alot of dynamics which are required to make the track sound alive. Just suggesting you ease up a bit here.
A very nice vibe here, its like chilled but also enough to make you dance. When the bassline changes to accompany the chords, are you sure this is correct? The first step up sounded somewhat out-of-key. It could just be the type of sound you used for the bassline, if so consider trying to clean the up a little. The rest of the track is moving along nicely and I like the melody. Strings are lush
One complaint, the track lenght is over 9 and half minutes long. In my opinion this is far too long. If you were to cut sections out, i would say do it to the bits that are building up, because the track does alot of 'building' but not enough 'rocking'. The time length thing though is always a problem for me, just ask Mike Foyle. I prefer tunes which get straight to the piont and keep people dancing with boredom - 8 minutes 30 secs is my limit.
Overall, excellent production and the Pros outweigh the Cons. Keep it up mate!
oh i like this buddy. really nice filmscore vibe to it. the bass change i think is correct its just that it goes quite low and begins to loose its sub, perhaps if its not too difficult to do u could raise the pitch of every sound by a few semitones just to get that bass sound a bit cleaner. melody owns me seriously, really good. its rare to find a good melody along side a mint production, this is one tho, im very impressed, and i hope to hear some more of your stuff soon
Keep it up matey.
*Sunquest goes on a safari riiiiiiide*
damn damn damn
non stop good tunes today on the forum
really great stuff,
dunno what to comment, really energetic
keep em coming
Ooh, very pleasant.
It's nice to hear something different, and this has a pretty unusual vibe. Great work! There's just a couple of things you might want to look at - the mastering and the length. It's just too loud, and unfortunately the track becomes woefully repetitive after a while. Fix that and it'll be even better.
Pro.
Ive only just started posting of these forums and already some of this stuff is at such a high level. Fantasic tribal vibe. Chilling yet upbeat.

oh...what a relief
I thought you hate it
The length. I started remaking the original with the goal to shorten it. But now it is even 15 seconds longer :x .
So I guess it's a good idea to edit it once again ...with a better mastering
.

nice bassline man. I like hte crisp sound of hte melody. Really feel like i'm on a safari. THe hihats are a little too loud. Maybe through in some extra percs to get everything sounding fuller, not saying it's not full sounding around. Good production man. Keep them coming.
Nice vibe. I'm not the biggest fan of the distorted bass, it definitely does the job when the other layers are stripped back, but for example at 5:36 it's kind of buried there.
Buildup at 4:22 is really awesome, I just love it! Nice euphoric moment there, the high synth that comes in at 4:26 works perfectly with the resonant synth leading up to it. Really nice!
