hotels near Vision?
can any of you recommend a decent hotel close to Vision (preferably walking distance)? or if there isn't anything in that area, something decent (and cheap) that we could cab it there from the hotel? my bf and i are coming down this saturday for Ferry, and we're just thinking we'd like to party like superstars, and not have to worry about driving home @ 5am.
i'd like to actually be able to get really drunk down there for once.
not to mention, pregaming = saving $$$

You might want to see how much the Ohio House is....it is an older, smaller place about 3 blocks from vision (on Ohio funnily enough) I pass it everytime I drive downtown.
The Embassy Suites is abotu a block away from Vision but I would bet it is pretty pricey....esp if you are not going to get to the room till 5 am.
MrS
yea, i checked hotels.com today and pretty much anything in that downtown area is too much $$$. there were a few cheaper places ~12 miles from Vision that i may consider... i'd still have to drive but at least it wouldn't be ALL the way back to Milwaukee.
i'll check into your suggestions. thanks guys.
how much are you looking to spend?
may I recommend:
Seneca Hotel
200 E. Chestnut
Chicago IL 60611
"Quality customer service guaranteed"
seriously though... $150/night is better than a DUI or risking your life driving home late/early after all the bars are closed, etc.
Club Quarters Central Loop
111 West Adams Street
Chicago IL 60603
only five rooms left for $110. Not bad considering it's location.

just drive around the northside (lakeview/wrigleyville/lincoln park) and you'll find some small cheap hotels here and there. they may not be as nice as some, but they serve their purpose. the place i stay when i'm in chicago is $35 a night.
you can take the el to the club and a cab back. hell of a lot cheaper than forking out $150 for a ritzy loop hotel.
