I havnt seen college football in 2 years, and I wont till they finally let the players decide the outcome of the season like every other sport in the world , and not a computer or voters.
For people who dont follow this, last year there was 2 champions lol USC and LSU cause USC finished 1st in the AP poll and Lsu in the BCS (BS)poll. The NCAA are a bunch of assholes who care more about the money they get fom the BCS computer poll.Theres also the whole Mike Williams story,so yea fuck college football.

i agree...they need to go to somekind of playoff, or in a case like last year have both those teams play a championship game.

I doubt this will ever happen though, because a playoff system would eliminate most bowlgames, causing lots of people to lose too much money.

yeah
and the sad thing is the NCAA and ABC already extended the BCS till 2008 i think.
There is just to much greed in NCAA football and some of the athletes have become victims for stupid reasons.

Heres the way I look at it as for the playoffs, why dont they just.....
have a quarterfinal and it would involve the 4 bowls that they already use in the BCS,the host of the semifinals would rotate and they can rotate the host of the championship game every year just like they do now.
If the other whogivesashit Bowls are worried, they shoudnt they can still have their wasteoftime bowls with mediocore teams playing just like always.
I go to to U of Miami and I havnt gone to their games since 2 years ago vs PITT,I dont like whats goin on with this particular college sport so I choose not to watch anymore.
But I still like making fun of FSU just for fun heres hoping for WIDE RIGHT 5 on monday

i lost faith in college football a long time ago...back when notre dame got screwed out the national title. i still watch it because most of those teams are better than the NFL team we have here.

Oklahoma will redeem themselves this year.

Posted by torontotrance on Sep-03-2004 08:24:

LSU did not deserve to cohold national champs with USC. USC obviously had the better year and the flawed ranking system showed its problems.

Posted by Omegasox on Sep-05-2004 02:40:

No way LSU is gonna repeat with the Randall/Russell combo. If it wasn't for Serna, they would have lost to the Beavers tonight. Three missed PAT's, who would've thought, wow.

no kidding...wouldnt want to be Serna tonight, and LSU should get bumped down at least 2 spots in the polls.

Give me a break dude anybody coulda had a better year wit that schedule. lsu played 6 teams that were ranked in the top 25 (one of which was in the top 5(twice)). USC played 1. also LSU lost to A ranked team(Florida). and USC lost to an unranked CAL. BEfore OU's last two losses the entire nation was saying "they may be the best team ever to play college football" they lost to K State and then it changed to "there still a great football, and possibly still the best ever." they lose to LSU and then people say,"they never were really thaT good Anyway." lastly Lsu beat this ever so great OU team for there title, USC had to beat MICHIGAN??????

Posted by torontotrance on Sep-06-2004 23:35:

and you are telling me that LSU will win this year? after just scraping out a game they should have lost. The college rankings have always been flawed and USC should have been the only national championship

PLAYOFFS

No thats a misunderstanding, my podna started the thread under my name, and said they would repeat. as far as my opinion goes i think they have a chance at repeating but im not saying they will. and as far as usc being the only nat. champs, i gota disagree for the reasons i stated earlier. they just dont play a tough enough schedule, to me. half of the teams on there schedule, as of today (sept. 7th), already have a loss. so yeah they'll probly go undefeated or lose 1 game and have a good shot at the title again. but so would, north carolina state tech A&M university, if they had that schedule.

YEAH i agree, playoffs would be the fairest solution and it would also make college footbal more interesting.

Posted by torontotrance on Sep-07-2004 22:14:

but still LSU should have played USC for the TITLE last year, that's the only fair way to settle the score, co-national champs is like a tie, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Dunno

im going for michigan state...altho they wount win...but hopefully will make it up there!!

Well you're right about the first part, since they lost their opener to Rutgers.

i couldn't agree wit you more, and there actually was a microsoft rep. who offered 1 million dollars to each school and an aditional million to the winner, if they would have played. but the ncaa wouldnt let that happen. anyway i got to more bits of info and im done wit talkin about last year. 1) LSU had 13 wins last season that more than any other BCS team. ou 12, usc 12. and 2) lsu had to play UG, for the sec championship, for the second time that season(game one ug was ranked in top 5 game two in the top 10) and if / when LSU beat them again it actually hurt LSU's BCS score (because it hurt UG's record and worth to LSU) but that alone just shows how fukt up the BCS is.

no repeat for LSU.
