I got a game with it called "Delta Force - Black hawk down"
the last few days i've tossing up on whether its good or shit. its ok but its just a bit buggy.
but anyway, who cares about that... the important thing is that I got the card saying that I can get my free copy of HL-2.
*booooooom-tish bo-boom boom-tish*
^^^sorry bout that. Cant wait to play half life 2. especially because I loved the first one even if I was always picking shit out of it for having so many funny bugs
(like being able to jump on peoples heads without them noticing. lol!)
so anyway my computer is now

Dual 512 ram
Radeon 9800XT <-- !!!!
.....awaiting "Audigy II"

unlike most of you i have a budget..
bought a 9800SE, and intend to softmod it to a 9800pro, as soon as my case and ram arrive from tigerdirect..
Alienware laptops are such a ripoff..

sweet. check out this UT04 benchmark:
yeah- i should waited for the 800xt, but i went ahead and bought an AIW 9800 pro. i'll prob. overclock it to an XT one of these days, but just too lazy.
you guys seem like techs, maybe you could tell me how I could have 2 cpus for just one computer?

I could never justify spending 300 JUST on gfx, I got my 9800 pro for 105 ![]() However, the guy got a 9600 xt, which performs worse than the 9800 pro for pretty much the same price... |
well, they dont NEED 512, its just that's what would be needed for the game to perform on max video settings and still be playable.
they made doom3 kinda backwards compatible, I played it fine on my system at 1024x768, high detail settings, looked nice enough and was smooth to play, but they wanted to set the standard (and are prolly in cahoots with gfx card manufacturers to increase the next-gen sales) and allow for the game to still be played in a few years time.
think about games from 2000, played on a 2004 system, some of them look crap even on the highest everything settings
I shudder to think how much 512MB cards will cost
