That track is terrible and it is not even a remix. I wonder what you actually think is cheese since you said you like Ian Van Dahl!

Did i say it was a remix ? i said it was a version and i also said it was a synergy and its pure cheese !

I do like Ian Van Dahl - castles in the sky specily the wippenberg remix, before radio 1 played it to death i did like it a lot.

my definition of a cheesey track would be something like

SFL - Paint it Black ( arrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhh i hate that track ! ! ! )
or
Pino Pino - Mission of Love ( pure cheese ! )
Muse - Newborn ( perfecto / oakenfold mixes )
DJ Quicksilver - Bombastic ( CHEESE FEST )

that sort of rubbish . . . .

Amber - Sexual (Deep Dish Cheez Whiz Mix)

The original is quite cheezy but Deep Dish have turned it into a deep house monster. Well maybe not...but at least it's worth listening to...

BTW Does anyone remember the time that PVD was dropping Amber - Sexual in almost every set of his....hmmmmm can't be cause the song was good...maybe he had a lil crush on Amber....lol

Well this thread is titled "remixes of cheesy tracks"!

Never heard any of these apart from DJ Quicksilver "Bombastic" which is definitely cheese but I'd still rather hear it than Ian Van Dahl!

The Klubbheads remix of Vengaboys "Boom Boom Boom" (or is that "Boom Boom Boom Boom"?) is excellent. You wouldn't recognize it.

I do like a lot of "Techno-cheese" (why is it called cheese btw? - it's not like everybody likes real cheese?!?) including the Absolom version of "Castles in the sky". I don't love it, and I usually grow tired of it quicker than with trance, techno or house. But I do like it. So am I a bad person? A twisted individual? Hope not

fragma - you are alive (blank & jones remix)

i hate fragma but this mix is actually good

Exclamation

hrmm, probably klubbingman - welcome 2 the club (mat silver mix)

the original really sux!! but mat silver made a piece of shit into one awesome song

and in my opinion the best remix's are usually done by: dumonde, Scott project, and shane54

but thats just my "opinion" of course.....

OK any regular here will know i keep banging on about it, but Ian Vsn Dahl - Castles in the sky(wippenberg remix), this remix is so much better than the original

Posted by Trypsin on Sep-29-2001 03:29:

Definitely the three remixes of the Hamsterdance song... whoever did it is a bloody genius. I'm thinking that one of these days I'm going to drop it right in the middle of a set just to see what happens.

i totally agree with you!

the original is too embarrassing to listen to but the wippenberg mix is not bad at all

wanna check out the GREATEST remix of a cheesy tune?

listen to Crispy - In n Out

then take a listen to the Signum remix. o lord. only a lord of the trance could've pulled that one out.

Ian van Dahl is played all over the radio here and gets really, really annoying. Before it got so overplayed I thought it was cheesy but didn't mind it, but when this happened it got so annoying!

Moby; Run on (Plastic angel mix). Its maybe not a cheezy tune originally but it sure as hell aint a trance tune either.

I actually went to high school with one of the "musical geniouses" behind crispy (the guy with the ugly hair...ok the thin guy ). He was the usual DJ at the parties, although apart from looking important and fading one track into another at random he wasn't any useful. Actually he once told a friend of mine, that came to request a track, that if he really wanted to hear that track he could go home and do it! That's the art of diplomacy concretized for you.

Well, not much of a point to this post I guess - I just wanted to let you know that even stupid jerks can make electronic music (and at least in east-asia they're more popular than Picotto or Tiesto )

The vocals in this tune are awfully cheesy, but the Absolom Remix is an alright tune. No vocals, and better than the Wippenberg Remix IMO.
