Please Introduce Yourself ! ---Xenocreator---

Hi all,

For the last couple of months Ive been working on a project with my Brother in Australia & so far we have only created 2 songs in that time (pretty much 1 track each). We have planned to have 10 songs done by Christmas, but that is fast approaching & we may not make that deadline. At the moment our project is just called 'Project A' - We have a name but will release it once the songs have been created. Our influences include: hallucinogen, Shpongle, Sasha, Oforia, Astral Projection, Infected Mushroom & Cygnus-X.....

I don't usually do big introductions, but I take this board quite seriously & as a newbee i gotta start somewhere! I respect all the work posted here & hope to form some alliances with you other serious like-minded musicians. I have to say that i am really impressed with some of the tunes I have listened to so far. To name a few; Airborne (sunquest) & Mangoes Dream (EN2K) are kickass tracks. I really wasn't expecting this level of kickassery.

Anyways, I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips & hints??
The first thing I would like to know is where you guys put your MP3s online. What site do you guys recommend to host MP3s?

The other thing I would like is for you guys to introduce yourselves & tell us a bit about what music you like/create, & maybe how long you have been creating trance/techno for? I am personally into Goa/psy trance & techtrance. Please make yourself known so I can keep an eye out for your posts & check out your recent tunes. I realise that feedback & constructive critisim means everything here!!

Hi Peter

Welcome at TA. The best way to get to know our kind of tunes is to listen to them

I'm into trance and progressive I have a few tunes in my sig you can check them out if you like. I like groovy clubby tunes as well but for now i stick to prog & trance for producing.

Some of us have their own servers or use other peoples server to upload their music. Some use sites like soundclick which i hate because you have to be a member before you can download.

I hope you post some quality tunes always nice to hear how others are doing

Heu mate,

www.dancetech.com is a great solid site to host files on, its free too, i think its 50 mrg webspace, and files are limited to 10 meg each which gives you 160kps 8 minute tracks

hope this helps

Thanks Jay.

I hope to set up a website in a couple of months & ill see if i can showcase some tunes on that then.

I scoped out soundclick & it seems like a good option. I dont like the fact that you have to be a member before you can download!

....Ill get back to you soon after i listen to your tracks!

Sweet. Thanx Alan!
This look like the best option at the moment. I will test it out with one of my preliminary tracks & post it here ASAP.

Cool

yo, welcome, im luke and am fairly tired/drunk (nothin new there)

i make whatever sounds good and i can be arsed to finish. if you think you are gonna get 10 top quality tunes done by xmas, think again, they will either sound all teh same or be rushed as fuck, take your time, dont worry about deadlines until after your stuff is signed, its nice to get stuff done but dont over pressurise yourself, u will just regret rushing stuff

+ please read the rules lol

welcome xeno

hope to be hearing some of your stuff in the near future.

And as luke said, you shouldn't try to set deadlines for yourself. I usually want to spend as long as I possibly can on a track before I finish it and this usually means about 1 track per month.

Also, remember, it might be nice to have your tracks reviewed and all that, but you should also listen to other people's tracks and give comments and give back to the community.

Welcome and enjoy your stay!

Hey xenocreator, welcome! I am looking forward to hearing your productions. These forums are great for feedback and you'll learn a lot by the excellent responses that are given.

I'm still in on a huge learning curve, so the tracks I've been creating all have quite a different focus. Nevertheless, they are all variations on melodic / uplifting trance. My aim is to exclusively write club tunes, none of this prog shit that's great to listen to but kind of yawn-worthy at clubs

I host my tunes on my own website at exetel ( 100MB storage, no upload limits ), but have also used www.besonic.com. Besonic is alright, you can direct link to them, but they insist on 128Kbps mp3s, which is pretty lame.

Anyway, welcome to the forums and I look forward to hearing your tracks!

Hiya Luke.
Thanks for the advise. I have spent the last month creating a track called 'Entoxicash', an epic techtrance ride that i could never have created in any less time. The deadline is set because David (my brother) has other commitments that he wants to pursue after Christmas. I think you are right though, we really do need to spend the time creating the 'perfect' tracks: getting the sounds right & doing a superb mixing job. We probably will not fully finish the tracks until March next year.

keep pissing on dude! - Ive created a whole lotta shit when I was drunk thinken that it was great. The next day I usually think "what the hell was I thinking!" Though there is nothing like spinning yourself out with your own music when you are wasted!
*edit ...errr does that make sense?

G'day Kewlness. Thanks for the welcome! An Eye for an eye is the way I see it. Ive come here to stick around for a while. I probably will not post a track here straight away, but I will definitely get involed in reviewing tracks. This forum kicks ass. I love the idea! I am looking forward to getting some serious reviews back as well by professional music makers like yourselves!

Hi Pho mo,
Another kickass welcome. Ill check out Exetel & see what they are like. So far Im thinken Ill go with dancetech. They have only have 10 meg storage, but mp3s can be 160kps (8 min tracks). Ill have to keep ecetel in mind if I run outa room at Dancetech; though i suppose I can also create another profile!!

Ill definitely keep an eye out for your tracks as well & tell you how the 'melodic clubby trance' rates from my perspective ...The more reviewers the better right?
