Gimme Some Breakz

Even though we are all TAs, I know that trance isn't the only EDM that we get down with. I was wondering who's into breaks and what they're fav DJs are. The only breaks DJs I know by name are DJ Icey and Chris Fortier. I'm intrested in getting into breaks a little more but not sure where to start so I figure I'd ask my fellow TAs. I really dig the sound of funky breaks so I'd really appreciate some guidance in that area. Thanks in advance. Peace.

edit:Since I'm currently deployed to Iraq, my downloading capabilities are limited. So, if you could also suggest some CDs that I could purchase that would be a great help. I can't use file-sharing services but I can download .mp3s from websites. If you know of any places that I could get some mixes or sets please PM me. Thanks again.

thanks for all the info so far...can anyone recommend any specific albums?

Decoder and Substance on Mesc Recordings makes some pretty mean breaks...really industrial sounding but has a nice vibe to their songs.
Decoder and Substance - Gravity
Decoder and Substance - No More Music

Try Meat Katie, Elite Force, Rennie Pilgrem.

I've played the CDR of it for 2 months straight and I still don't get tired of it, the song is a floorfiller and just deep nasty stuff.

Hybrid's mix cd is out sept 20th (hey distinctive actually got something out before 2005 :haha

Evil 9 and Ils's albums are coming, so is Lee Coombs in October. Rennie Pilgrem's new album is off the hook, out in 9 days in teh UK, a month later in the USA. I have a copy and I can't get enough of it.

Yea, totally agree. Baby Anne is the way to go, either with Mixed Live @ Club Ra, I'm About To Break, or her 1st album. She's the best breaks DJ out there besides Icey, without a doubt!!

ok some of you guys have put up some pretty average breaks djs as "really good breaks djs"

ok here goes. This coming from an aussie which all breaks dj's or producers(decent one's anyway) agree has the most thriving and best breaks scene on earth people liek freeland, pilgrem, plump djs all say that and they are always touring here
ok here's my list:

Adam freeland
plump djs
rennie pilgrem
drumattic twins
roni size
freestylers (not push up though...so commercial!)
hybrid (prog breaks at its best)
Luke fair
soul of man
krafty Kuts and A-skillz
best aussie kid kenobi ( he did that AWESOME mix of ferry corsen's rock your body and his mix of greenvelvet's la la land was also mint!
james zabiela i also love really good mix of prog and breaks like hybrid
stanton warriors
lee coombs
hyper
scratch perverts (turntabilism and breaks and dnb)
LTJ bukem and MC Conrad

Trust me they are the best breaks around ..anyone not on that list aint top-shelf breaks dj's (unless i have forgotten anyone , but i dont think i have )
oh yeah meat kattie too
