Posted by jcosgrove on Sep-02-2004 18:48:

no - its unsigned.

Posted by GrimReaper on Sep-02-2004 18:48:

That sucks. A great unsigned track gets to be "released" like that without any authorization.

Posted by Dave Piazza on Sep-02-2004 18:49:

I would email the site admin and tell him to take the song down. I would also ask where they got the song from and than sue the bastards who did it.

but than again the songs only selling for 10 pence

But honestly thats bullshit, you need to get some kind of royality(maybe a candy bar or something ...j/k me and my jokes)

Posted by jcosgrove on Sep-02-2004 18:51:

i've already sent an email to the admin, there is some losers about.

Re: Re: this makes me angry....

Yeah, that's really low. I don't know, I'm not an incredibly huge of the RIAA cracking down on all p2p interfaces, but MAKING MONEY off of someone else's creative work (and I'm sure it's outstanding work) that isn't your own is one of the lowest things you can do to an artist. There has to be a way to go after these guys.

I don't trust anything with a .ru on the end.

Thats just plain wrong.

Send them a very threatening letter in the post as well.

Posted by djthunderbird on Sep-02-2004 19:14:

that sucks bad!

but have you guys asked the most important question of all: how on earth did this remix get leaked anyway!?

Posted by Dave Piazza on Sep-02-2004 19:14:

I hope people realize this is killing EDM.

How are artists to be rewarded for their hard work and talent? They have provides us the joy of the music we in return should reward them as well.

This whole downloading shit for free and fucking over the artists is wrong! Yea the labels get most of the money but the artists atleast get some $$ which is better than nothing. People are so greedy and selfish is pathetic.

I hope the bastards that did this get sued.

Posted by retiro on Sep-02-2004 19:17:

I am dead against this but no dis-respect to you chap but you should be careful who you give the track to then this won't happen!

Posted by flavdave on Sep-02-2004 19:18:

You guys should ask yourself who you gave the track to because someone obviously had been sharing it. Maybe someone you gave it to had it in a shared folder by accident and it went from there.

INFORMATION

Hiya fellow thread readers...

Alright i've previously done all sorts of research into mp3search.ru, so i'll happily pass on that information to you here.

Apparently in Russia they have really messed up copyright laws which in effect make it legal for this site to operate selling "legal" mp3s of whatever songs it wants according to russian law.

End of story.

And they are even EVIL enough that they know people are scared of giving them credit cards to buy the songs, that they accept Paypal very sneaky.

So in effect you have a "legal" napster operating in russia.

And of course in this fabulous world there isn't a damned thing that can be done about it...

That's bullshit, and you should raise hell. You could probably have them shut down, or, at least, make them settle, giving you some cash.

It annoys me, because, as a dj, a lot of producers are afraid of giving away their tracks. They don't know that I would never give it away or "leak" it, but need to protect their ass against fools like the one that gave this one away.

i say you have some 133t haxor friends fuck their site hehehehe....when it comes to russia...you gotta take matters into your own hands

Id first ask the site admin. for a mailing address to send inquires too about this matter. I would first send numourous nasty mailings. I would then mail them a small box containing dog shit inside. Please dont use your real home mailing address in the return postage. Be creative.

Next I would spam their email box with a email program. Use a drone email account. Use a multi. IP. Make sure the message indicates your disgust with their fraud.

Finally, but most devestating I'd look for a good computer geek or two and cause some problems on their servers .

Hopefully your message will than be heard.

Like montana already said it's a low quality ogg file. Moreover there's another strange thing: I made 2 remixes of it...An Intro Mix and a non-intro mix. The ogg-file i uploaded is the intro mix and the one you can buy on that russian site is the non-intro mix. However i never uploaded the non-intro mix anywhere. never. We just sent out both versions to labels. Considering these facts a label must have failed to secure their demos or didn't care about it. It's pretty weak that those who always complain about sharing mp3s and stuff are the source of this problem.
Don't get me wrong - I know those guys won't earn the big cash with this track, but it's a basic problem i have with it. We didn't get this track signed yet...while someone else makes money with it.
